Oh now you guys are getting numbers(thanks ian, huge job you have taken on here lol) of around 250 i feel like iv been here forever being only number 40!!!!!!!!:o :o:D:D

Hopetrmd thank you for you pm :D  You can change your ballances with payplan at any time, i emailed them via justabank as a few of the figures i first sent them were wrong and they adjusted them...so if you do empty the OD just email them with the current ballance and they will add it on to the plan at that figure.

You could tell the crediotrs your payplan number even though you havent sent the paperwork back yet if you want to, as this case number will stay the same after paperwork has gone through and it will show creditors you are not lying just to get out of paying this months payment and that you mean bussiness!!

If they do contact payplan in the mean time payplan will explain they are waiting for the first payment to be recived then they will get in touch with the creditors after this.

Hi Ianmak, I have a long stretch ...can I have a number too!!...reduced rate of course, as its after 10pm!!!;)

    Evening All,

I was unable to stop my payment going to my old account...pay day is tomorrow..so I'll be on the war path to withdraw as much as I can!!

Payplan have sent me my documents...:j
Q: They have actually included my OD at my old bank. This is correct as of now. But now as my pay goes in tomorrow, this will be removed!
The aim will then be to remove as much cash as I can and leave the account flat.
Will Payplan accept the amendment on the creditor’s sheet to zero or will they have to send new docs out.
HSBC would not open a new account for me unless I signed to close my others. So I applied online to the co-op.
As I have not got the account details yet...I cannot send my Payplan docs back.
So I'm not making much progress, but receiving countless calls and letters. Abbey want me to speak with them and the DMP advisors? Aegis on behalf of MBNA are on my case too.

Is there a letter that I can send advising them and the others of my payplan number and that they should contact them directly....or am I not permitted to send this until I have sent my signed docs back to PP first?

    Thanks in advance guys..

    Hope
    x

Interesting you should be told that by HSBC.
We moved back to HSBC but we told them we would move all our Direct Debits ourselves to ensure nothing was mossed. This didnt worry HSBC and we still have our old accounts abet with overdrafts in place ( and now moved to the DMP ) and the new HSBC account with no OD facility.

Aegis are real B*****Ds. They will call you and tell you all sorts of storys to extract even the smallest overpayment from you. Ive taken to seeing how long I can keep them on the phone. so far 18 minutes !!!

They will tell you about defaults affecting your credit score, will ask for debit card payments, will ask for a friends debit card and you can pay the friend back, offer you consolidation loans... just be prepared for a number of phone calls.

If a creditors says any of the follow here are the answers i gave them

WE WILL DEFAULT YOUR ACCOUNT WHICH WILL EFFECT YOUR CREDIT RATING- Thats fine as my credit rating is going to be shot for the next 10 years so if you have to default then thats fine!

CAN WE TAKE A DEBIT CARD PAYMENT- No i dont have any facility to make payments over the phone and no extra money to give you

CAN YOU ASK A FRIEND FOR THE MONEY- Im sorry i dont have any friends or family that i speak to that i can ask that and you are incouraging me to take out more debt!

DO YOU WANT A CONSOLIDATION LOAN- No thank you as my credit rating is so bad i wouldnt get accepted!! OH WE CAN SORT THAT FOR YOU- I thought you would say that and the answer is no!

WE CANT SPEAK TO YOUR DMP COMPANY ABOUT THIS ACCOUNT WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT- Oh thats a shame beacuse i have handed all responsibility over to then meaning i can no longer talk to you unless my dmp advise me to do so.

YOU CANT JUST NOT PAY US WE WILL TAKE FURTHER ACTION- I am well aware you make take further action but you will have to do what you have to do as you cant have what i havent got.

IF AT ANY POINT THE CREDITORS GET NASTY, AGRESSIVE OR YOU JUST GET UPSET................HANG UP THE PHONE. TAKE TIME TO CALM DOWN AND THEN PHONE YOUR DMP COMPANY FOR ADVISE.
ABOVE ALL REMEMBER YOU ARE NOW IN CHARGE NOT THE CREDITORS...YOU HAVE TAKEN BACK CONTROL AND ARE NOW CALLING THE SHOTS, THEY CAN THREATEN YOU WITH ANYTHING THEY WANT YOU MUST REMEMBER NOT TO PANIC AND THERE IS A ANSWER...DO NOT BE BULLIED!

Thats the way i did it...and if you are prepared it doesnt take long...get a list of all companys along with their phone numbers and dates you wish to set dd from new account.
Then find half hour to ring them all and tick off as you go along, takes about 5 mins to each one.

Thank you Penny, Ian and Donna

If it is just a case of phoning with new account details then I will do that - wasn't sure if I would have to put it all in writing etc - have enough paperwork to do as it is lol

  • Hi everyone,

I haven't been on for a long while but have been paying back all my credit cards etc from overspending in my 20's - reality check approaching 30's and a baby!

I really need some advice about an old loan I had when I graduated from uni in 1998. I was lent 2k and then I think I had 2 overdrafts so they told me I had to re-finance into a gold service loan - I was having such a 'good' time I put my head in the sand and really don't remember very much about it - I dont have the paperwork to track it all back. Long story short 11 years later I have a loan which currently stands at 13k (to clear today) has been refinanced a numerous times over the phone to an indian call centre and I have no information about it after that call so have no idea what I have agreed to I just wanted the call to end so my partner wouldnt find out:o pathetic I know

I have missed several payments made several payments - inconsistent and finally faced up to it after repeated calls from a centre abroad saying I had to re-fianance again and again. The loan is managed by a Lloyds department but has been in collections for a few months now - I have chased several times for statements and a copy of the signed CCA, I finally went into a branch to speak to a 'person' who had the same problem finding info as i did and he works for Lloyds! - 3 weeks later they have sent me the statements but no CCA. I am concerned about this loan the lack of info and my faith in the banks has gone to be honest - the same bank who took £90 in one failed dd charge back in 2003 - several times which is why I have the loan in the first place....I did get all my charges back through this site which helped us with the new baby so I didnt have to run up more debt!
They are saying they are willing to settle the debt for 8k, I asked what the consequences will be and they said I woudl be blacklisted - part of me says fine I don't want credit again but teh other is terrified:eek:

I finally confessed to my partner who is very anti debt and saves for everything (my ambition in life!) and he is offering to pay 8k for it but thinks I shouldnt pay the full 8k and should settle at 3k because I've been lent to irresponsibly - I think its half and half:o . I have sent a letter requesting again the CCA so am waiting to hear back from them. If they can't find it and bearing in mind I have been making payments each month but admittedly missing a couple months with returned DD over the years and also there are interest charges of £100 per month (can this be right?) could i suggest to them that as they don't have it I will only pay them 3k?

Sorry for waffling its all in my head - just typing it out confuses me - maybe I should just shut up and put up and tell my partner that it was the way it was back then and I am paying for it now? (hard for him as he is so sensible!)

    Any suggestions?

P.s I was a bit nervous putting this up here as I am not sure its relevant to all of you but this board looks really supportive :o thanks to anyone who can help

p.p.s I'm impressed by all of you for dealing with your debt I've been in the sand for 10 years and still spitting the grit.........
