I'm afraid I only know what they put in the letter ie MBNA have instructed them to contact me to secure repayment of the overdue amount. Thats what the letter states and asks me to contact them to arrange payment. The debt is still with MBNA I would think as I've only missed one payment and I've just received another statement from them.

Hi everyone
I am another newbie on this thread. Having read through some of the posts on here before xmas I decided to take the plunge and phone CCCS as our debts were spiralling out of control.
I'm happy to say we have just started on a DMP having made our first payment on Feb 1st.
We are still getting hassled by HSBC several times a day over the phone despite asking them to communicate by letter only but I'm hoping this will stop after they've received a few payments! Everyone else has been fine.
As it stands we will pay off our debts in about 10 years  !! Anyway, it does feel good to finally be doing something about it.
I just wanted to say thanks to all who have posted on here for giving me the motivation to get it all movingDebt free Olympic Contender # 134DMP Mutual Support Thread member # 250DMP March 2010 [STRIKE]£9786 [/STRIKE] now £9900 -

Sounds a bit like one of MBNA's nasty tactics to me to try to scare you into paying. If you're already sorting things with cccs as you are, I would be inclined to ignore it and go ahead and notify them about your DMP.
Wouldn't have thought they would instruct another agency to get involved at this early stage, don't they have to default you etc first.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -
Sorry Stolli I deleted my message as I just read that you sending DMP payments to MBNA.
Personally I would not worry about RMA, do a google search on them, they are noobs like most DCA's, full of hot air and will use scary template letters to try and get money out of you. Unless MBNA inform you they are no longer dealing with your account then don't pay them a button, ignore the letters if you like because they are only acting on behalf for MBNA so don't worry.
All creditors have in house debt collectors which means they pretend they are from another company stating our client has instructed us to contact you for payment and you must pay immediately etc, its a load of nonsense they are all from the same company just might have a different address.
Several of them do this, they just want more money, for example OH owes Halifax alot on loan and card, Moorcroft sent him several letters, even to his mum's requesting immediate payment or court action will follow and I have ignored every letter so far. I have continued to pay Halifax and will do so until Halifax confirms in writing the debt has passed on.
I called CCCS about this because I was confused over who to pay, I didn't want to send payments all over the place and have Halifax say you haven't paid us plus I didn't like the way Moorcroft dealt with us in their letters so never did anything to them.
I'm sure there is a thread on here with who is connected to who. I know Halifax have Blair Oliver and Scott. Great Universal has NDR and Monument have Portland.DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -

Why the 3 satutory payments, and not token payment until dmp starts??
when you start a new credit card, or move a debt to a card, you are required by law to make 3 contractual payments to that card before you can default and have it accepted onto a dmp.
We consolidated 2 creditors onto our egg card in December, and also, prior to our lightbulb monent, applied for and were given a virgin credit card. we tried to reverse the balance transaction on th ecard, but were not able to, so have had to make minimum payments until 3 clear months before PayPlan will allow us to move the debt onto the DMP.
Also, as Virgin is underwritten by MBNA, although we have toldour other MBNA accounts that were on a DMP, payplan cannot contact them until the 3 months are up for Virgin ( as the debt is all under one umberella, with separate account numbers ).
This accounts for our new friends Aegis who call me every day asking for debit card payments and to remind me that they have not been contacted by PayPlan yet. So far Ive blamed their internal proccesses, the snow, the royal mail plus other worldwide events for reasons they have not been contacted yet (it has become quite amusing listening to the Indian callers tell me how I must pay a minimum today by debit card, or direct debit.. that is after they try to confirm contact numbers, employer etc)LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

RMA are just the 'inhouse' debt collection people for MBNA, they got involved very early on, then passed back over to MBNA when they accepted my payments. As said before, a scare tactic, and I have to say, most of the people there I spoke to weren't very nice. Don't worry too much about it though. Oooh, and I think they're one of the ones who post cards through the door threatening you with 'callers'. Again, a scare tactic, so don't worry!
DLB/HOPEtrmd, that JB prepay card looks very expensive, and there are cheaper/free ones out there, if you really want to have a prepay card, if at all!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Toffee have you asked for cca's from any of your creditors, keep thinking I might do this if I can get around to it, not to try to stop paying back the debt just to have a bit of extra amunition if any of them did try to go down the court route.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080

Hiya.. posted this on my other thread but didn't have much success... Can anyone on here help please?
"Just got home to find a letter from Rish Management Alternatives. Apparently MBNA have instructed them to contact me to secure repayment of the overdue amount (1 month) to bring my account up to date.
Anyone know anything about RMA? Should I just ignore it?
I'm sending off my notice of DMP to MBNA tomorrow (doing it with CCCS) and also £1 token payment etc."
RMA / Aegis both used by MBNA.
They will use any trick in the book to secure a debitcard payment. even had the cheek to tell me to get a friend to make a payment on my behalf!!.. told them I could send them cash IF i had it spare at the end of the month, but wouldnt confirm the ammount.
If you do speak to them, just be firm and donot be pressurised into giving any bank, debit card / credit card details. Just tell them the DMP ref if you have it and tell them they will be contacted in due course.
They will get shirty at some point, threaten credit blacklisting / even CCJ's. just remember they cannot have what you dont have, and that by the fact your on a DMP, your credit score is screwed anyway.
Give them a call, explain the situation.
Tell them you would love to pay them as you take your debts very seriously, but feeding your family comes first, and the dmp is structured to allow you to live on a budget. They cannot have what you dont have is the key here.
Remember, Stay Firm.

Not been here in a while.....thought it was about time I paid a visit again. We thought our DMP with CCCS was all sorted and have made first payment. But today we received 2 letters from GE Money. One just said that they are not able to accept our offer of payment, the other said that we have ignored previous attempts to contact them (we have written to them twice and spoken to them on the phone!!!) and says that if they do not hear from us within 3 days of the date of the letter (it is dated 7.2.09 and we received it on 19.2.09!!!) then they will begin formal recovery action.
They then go on to say that they will issue a default notice which the first step towards recovering the car that we bought with the loan or pursuing through the courts. We phone GE who said that they would expect us to sell the car or downgrade to a cheaper one - this is all very well but our car is worth much less than the value of the loan and we need a reliable car, because we can't afford to maintain one that isn't! We phoned CCCS who said don't worry about it and that GE will most likely pass on to a debt recovery company.
My wife is now thrown into a complete state of panic and thinks that the world is about to end.... Anyone have any experience of GE and how reasonable or otherwise they are?0
