Wether you had spoken to them or not this would have happened..the phone call was to try and get you to pay up..they would have taken this action anyway.
Just keep refering them to the dmp company you are with, they have to speak to them .
They also have to put anything offical in writing so phone calls or not they can not do anything major without writing to inform you.
Phone calls are there scare tactics...try and make em pay before we do the paperwork.

yes donna im sure your right - its not only scare tactics though but also an attept to get info quickly - im sure within my heated debate (dont like to call it an aguement - heated debates sounds more civilzed (lol)) they learned that i was in full time employment and had a mortgage ( remember at this stage i had not even had a letter to say they had bought the debt), i can hear myself now 'of couse ive got a bl**dy mortgage ' - if i had kept to my golden rule and kept my big mouth shut and not communcated over the phone it would have taken them a bit more investigation to find this out - and im sure thats why it was forwarded to the litigation department so quickly0 -
Good Afternoon my fellow DMPer's
This morning I had my long awaited phone appointment with CCCS and I feel GREAT!! :j
The guy was really positive and went through both my options, one of which was BR.....ooer! Didn't see that one coming as was offered IVA on the debt remedy service.
Anyway to keep a long 45mins phonecall short, I have agreed to go with my original plan of a DMP, and we have gone through the budget again with a fine toothcombe. I will now be paying less each month to CCCS than originally planned , which now means that my DFD is 3986 years away  (well maybe not that far, but feels like it! LOL!), however I really am not worried about that date. Someone mentioned a few days ago on here that we shouldn't become hung up on the DFD, and they're right.:T
We have 2 children 7 and 10 and I want to be able to give them some quality of life. Yes, I admit that I have been responsible for getting us into this financial mess in the first place, but I'm not prepared to sacrifice their happiness for the next 10 years, so if it means I have the DMP for longer than planned, then so be it!
My DMP start date is still on line for the 1st April, so its still all systems go!!:D
I am so looking forward to getting things started and getting my creditors under control. Who would have thought 2 weeks ago that me (lil' old Massivedebts) would have been saying that!! . We will have a healthy budget, and I'm going to save what I can for that rainy day, and hopefully the odd F & F (look at me DLB and MNM using all the MSE terminolagy!!:D ) and I'll be able to hold my head high for finally admiting I'm dealing with my debts - I might even go all out and set myself up with a signature for on here (not that I know how to!)
Anyway, srry to have rambled, but I thought I deserved it as I hadn't posted for a couple of days. I just have 1 question to ask (does she ever stop, I hear you all crying!?!;) ), when I spoke to CCCS I was advised to change my home phone number, shall I or shall I just face them all. My biggest fear is if they can't get hold of me at home then they'll start rying at work!
Thanks for reading guys - you are all WONDERFUL:A

Can I join please?
I've had my telephone chat with CCCS and I'm due to start my DMP on 1st April. I'm just about to send the standard letter which CCCS enclosed to all my creditors advising them that I'm entering into a DMP etc. Can I send my token payment in the same envelope? I thought this way I could send it recorded delivery and it would save me some money? What would you recommend?
Also the letter I'm send which CCCS has given me requires me to sign it. However, the letter I've got from here regarding token paymensts says not to sign. I'm a bit confused
Thank you all for the posts I've been reading on this thread. Its given me the motivation and encouragement I need :TLight Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -

Wow massivedebts...well done you , you sound so possitive and so you should..A HUGE HUG AND WELL DONE!!!
Hiya stolli welcome to the boards we are all lovely if not a bit bonkers at times but we are here to help.
The token payments i cant see a problem sending with the other letter, one to save you money and two, if they cash the payment you have proof they have recived notice of the dmp too.
The other letter requireing signiture is that from cccs?? as they will require a signiture to enable them to deal with creditors..is that whats the letter is regarding?Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Hi DLB and thank you!
The letter is the standard one from CCCS which I have to send to each of my creditors advising them of my CCCS/DMP number and that all future correcspondence should be via CCCS etc. Actually I've just noticed its called Notification Of Debt Management Plan...Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -

Cant see a problem with you signing this as you are signing to say the above letter is fact..and that fact is that the creditor is to deal with the dmp comapny in future.
You are at the start of an exciting emotional debt free journey but i assure you as a long standing dmp member (over 3yrs in now!!) it will be the best thing you have ever done.
Here to help you with anything

Well done
I would print your name and not use your signature, that way dodgy DCA's
can't forge or copy your signature on to an agreement...
But to be honest, when I set mine up, I sent token cheques (with my signature), and I signed all letters
It is just, if down the line somewhere you dispute the debt, and ask for a CCA.. the Creditor/DCA in question, could in theory copy your signature from your letters on to a Credit Agreement.0
