Mr turfy back tomorrow and is booked on the ferry so he will be home tomorrow evening, I must tidy round and get organised now. Need to make more mince pies, hobnobs and ice the christmas cake. will get more wrapping done if I get chance.Visa £[STRIKE]5063 [/STRIKE]now 0. Loan 1 €[STRIKE]4885[/STRIKE] now 0. Hello - I haven't posted for ages and I haven't read today's thread either - sorry - but hugs to all in need and an eggng to those who feel festive.
Well, I went to the post office today and paid £25+ for postage etc. £9 on one parcel alone - stewth....... Also I am having big problems with one of my knees(left) with no history of falling etc (although I fell down a flight of stairs about 10 years ago and twisted that knee). About a week ago I knelt down and it felt like I'd knelt on a tac or something. Nothing there so I ignored it. However, it has now got to the stage where I can't kneel at all on that knee and the bottom half of the kneecap is very tender and sore to touch. Mr Rage said "oh ligament damage" but I think he's a bit worried now. Anyway, rang up the GPs today and asked for an appointment - specifically mentioned I didn't want to see one doctor who I don't like very much and thinks the fact you're in his surgery means he can lecture you on losing weight (even if you've gone in with headaches) and last time I went in gave me a lecture on going on the South Beach Diet.. So, guess who I've got the apt with on Friday..... Anyway, cunning plan, they do an "open surgery" every morning so tomorrow I will ring up and say I've been in pain all night (which is true if I've been kneeling down) and ask for an apt...... I actually asked for one with my GP and was told 9 Feb!! Mr Rage good news dept - he's got a small christmas bonus - bad news dept - his company are looking to make 8% of the workforce redundant and as he's one of the last in we're not too hopefull.......
I also have to say that I don't feel very Chrsitmassy at all. The tree is up and the lights are on my trees outside but - bah. I havent even started cutting out my nephew's stocking but, as he's only 2, I seriously doubt if it would be used anyway...... Mr Rage is off on Friday to carry on tiling the bathroom at the other house and possibly buying his Chrismtas presents - I've done as much buying as I'm going to do so anything he's not done is on his own head I'm afraid. That said I am yet to get him something as (a) we've both said "oh we don't need anything" and (b) I still haven't got a clue. Might go for a nosey on Amazon after this.....But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Afternoon all
Happy Birthday Bargainbird.
I've sort of read the thread, but not taken much in, so ((((HUGS)))) to all who are in need of one.
Not doing much OS today, as I did lots yesterday (baking) and I'm still shattered.
But I do want to try and compile a list of tasks to try to get done while Mr LW is available to help - we'll have 4 whole days, 25th to 28th December; we don't visit or have people round, so it'll just be the two of us, and it's an excellent opportunity to get stuck into things I can't do alone.
TBH I need to keep him occupied, or he'll keep wanting us to go to the pub.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all
I'm not feeling great so not much OS'ing going on. Work Christmas dinner last night which went well, but I left quite early not to feeling particularly bright. Even got my dress finished (well, with only a few safety pins left in :rotfl: )
moliere - that's great news
Beth - hope you are feeling better
Happy birthday bargainbird, and belated wishes for Diva and Nelski - nice to see you back, we've missed you
WS - I don't like baked beans at all but I've never tried them homemade even though my American friend swears by them (some complicated recipe involving lots of sugar!) - as I don't like tomatoes I think it would probably be a bad plan. I tend not to be good with sweet/sour things and ketchup makes me feel physically ill for some reason. Our house guest was horrified we didn't have ketchup in the house
kiwichick - hugs for you, hope your trip to the dentist isn't too bad - just think how shiny they will be when they are all done
I'm supposed to be making mince pies, but I'm not sure everyone wants my virus, so I'm going to leave it for a bithave a good day all, cel x
:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

Ah well better get on, have good evenings all

Sybil - I love hm baked beans, stopped buying them when they went up so much in price and made some for the first time in years, can't think why I stopped as they are delicious!
Got some pickle on the go now, had a look at the jars of treats and discovered there was none left! Friend cancelled as they're stuck at work, so it kept me out of mischief! Will get together at the weekend or next week instead to exchange pressies, gives me a chance to finish his off!
Need to find out if anyone is up to eating tea, only meant to be sausage and chips, might just offer dd3 boiled eggs and toast, and the other 3 can just have plain toast. Guess being poorly is money saving, the food supplies haven't dwindled at all in the past few days!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
