    Morning all!

Bargainbird - happy birthday, have a fantastic day, and I hope your oh feels better soon.

    Hester - what is slumpie?

Kiwichick - good luck at the dentist, 16 fillings, eek!

Vicky - hope your mum's results are good x

Weather today is cold but bright and dry! We have all secumbed to the lurgy here, dd2 and ds have the sick bug that's doing the rounds, the rest of us have colds, dd1 has insisted that she is off to school today though, she's keen!

dd3 was just about well enough last night to do her nativity, it was lovely, and Mary and Joseph were so sweet and tiny, you forget how little the reception children look compared to all the others. The church was perishing cold though, so it was nice to get outside when it finished, cos it was warmer lol!

Today I need to whizz over to ds's school and drop some money in for a school trip, the cost is making my blood boil, it's almost as though you are blackmailed into paying for all these things to ensure they pass their GCSEs. Also need to pop into the fancy dress shop for some pirate stylee accessories, we're meant to be dressing up on Friday at work, nope I have no idea why or what pirates have to do with Christmas!

OS wise I will be putting the bm on, cleaning the kitchen and hoovering and tidying. Friend has just phoned to say they are popping over with pressies for the children, so that'll push me to get a move on!

Hugs to all in need xx

    Edit:

Jackie - I love my remoska, and use it almost every day. I have the largest one, and it is great, but the lid is quite heavy, so it may be a good idea to lift up the different sized lids in the shop before buying. I would also suggest getting a medium rather than the tiny one, if you don't want a huge one, as the tiny one really isn't big enough for much more than a baked potato. My large one is big enough to fit a loaf tin inside, and several other baking tins too, so I can do traybakes and cakes, I can also fit a chicken or joint of meat inside it to roast. As for having a moski as well as a sc, well the moski is more like an oven, so brilliant for lots of things that the sc can't do. Lakeland do a money back guarantee anyway if you aren't totally happy.

Nelski - glad you enjoyed your day, your pressies sound fab, I want a decorative bird cage too, saw some lovely ones on hol once, but as I'd already brought several large pots I couldn't see how I'd get it back on the plane! I have visions of one with a plant inside, and it hanging in a gorgeous conservatory, I sort of have a hope that if I get the cage then the gorgeous conservatory might follow lol! As for not being OS enough, poop to that! OS is more a way of thinking in my opinion, rather than knitting jumpers from wool gathered from worms at first light lol! Keep posting with us, my os usually consists of cooking and cleaning, not earth shattering stuff, but I'm trying!

VickyA - hope all goes well for your Mum today

Thank you to EVERYONE who wished me a happy birthday, it really made me feel special. I had a lovely day - wore the traditional 'birthday princess' tiara that my OH aquired about 10 yrs ago and every year it comes out and I have to wear it all day on my birthday!! (only in the house I hasten to add!!) it's covered in sequins and has a big badge on the front that says 'birthday girl'. I was given far too many chocolates by friends and instead of a cake, had another huge cheesecake (If you are quick Squiggly, you might get a slice this time though I doubt you could taste it with your nasty flu... Shame, I will have to eat it all myself :rotfl: :rotfl: )

OS wise - last couple of cards to make today, but also planning on some baking if I can get the homehelp to help. My normal lady is away though and some of the substitute ladies look a little askance when I ask them to bring in all the ingredients so I can mix and 'bake' on the kitchen table.

BM is on and the decorator is due back today to finish off the wallpapering and start painting the doors in the hallway.
Anyway, smileyhug.gifto everyone who needs them today, and getwell.gifto everyone who has the nasty flu bug.

    Morning boys and girls!

I'm sitting here with the laptop and SAD lamp for my morning fix of both! must go and make more tea. Have an ever increasing heap of jobs to do, but that will wait for a while. Most importantly I need to do my payclaim for work! Finished for the term, but taking payclaim in tomorrow and some xmas cards for the class. Also some hm cookies as it's my birthday in the hols. I didn't get in yesterday as wasn't well enough to go.

Need to do a major fridge sort otherwise stuff will be getting wasted soon. Not very MS! Seem to have overpurchased on eggs, so might make a cake for the freezer.

DS finishes school at lunchtime, needs some photos taking so will brave Mr M at the same time. Just need a few bits, nothing much really, going to make some pate to take to mum's for Christmas day tea. Also going to make some petit fours.

Not an exciting day, but I can deal with that. WIll also make a jobs list for ds to help with, he's quite willing, so a shame not to exploit that.

    Have a good day all.

  • Good morning everyone. My,there is a lot of you suffering with bugs.MrT still looks like a zombie with his cold,he tossed and turned all night as he could'nt breathe. The poor love has such a bunged up nose and sore throat.I think all the supplements I take must have pickled my immune system,I'm just never struck with infections.I do hope you all feel much better soon,we all have such a busy week end coming up.
I'm going to cook and bake today.(nothing else to do)I thought I'd make some soup first, got the squash roasting already. Then I've got my baking orders from my daughter. She's not into baking just eating it so still relies on mine.
Whatever you all get up to today, have a good one.
    Take care xxx.
