Spent £21.50 of Amazon credits on a Samsung dongle so I can watch BBC iPlayer through my expensive television, and ordered another £10 Amazon voucher from IPSOS! Chased up Nectar points for the TV itself, and ordered £5 worth of Sainsbury vouchers which I am going to put towards boring energy saving halogen lamps to keep my electricity bills down.
Spoken to Virgin again and ended up putting the phone down on them! Rang PlusNet who were helpful, didn't use jargon and cheaper than BT, so will probably sign up with them.
Hey!
I had no idea you could get a dongle to watch iplayer through your telly! It has a USB connection? *runs off to check her own telly*
Excellent news on the Amazon voucher. Just in time for Christmas
My Mum's got PlusNet broadband and they're very good. It's fast and reliable, the customer services are helpful and like you say don't use jargon and don't seem to do the hard-sell either. Very pleased with them.
Hope you're doing well. How's Noah?

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by! :grouphug: I am not so bad this weekend (except for it being chuffing cold) but had a mega-wobble last weekend. Yesterday my mate came over for a bottle of wine or three and I spent £12 on a Chinese takeaway. Thanks to the Freebies board, off to Harrogate with my mum tomorrow as I have tickets for the homebuilding and renovating show.
Noah likes his wet food so much that he is now refusing dry, so I have had to get creative in the kitchen .... he is presently licking posh cat milk off fishy biscuits; yesterday he managed to eat the raw meat and spit kibble all over the floor! Although I have claimed on the Pets board that I intend to train Noah the truth is that he is training me to play Dragonfly at quarter to two in the morning then get up to feed him/ clean his litter tray at 8am ... with a hangover.
The dongle has a USB connection - I could have bought the Samsung TV with built-in wireless but that would have been £200 more. I have been told by the Techies board I then need this free programme or to simply use my TV as an external monitor: http://tversity.com/pro/
I think I am going to start with the PlusNet Value which means the phone plus broadband will be £17 a month, only a couple of quid more than I am paying at present for mobile broadband. According to PlusNet I will be able to get the faster speeds from the end of March next year so could upgrade to the more expensive package then?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Hi there Fire Fox,
Glad to see that Noah's training you well - they're really good at that, aren't they.
I'm glad you're having a better weekend - apart from the obscene coldness - and long may the better days continue .
Take care of yourself

I am supposed to be starting running again on Wednesday with my mate as agreed when drunk, the term 'running' used in the loosest possible term since we are both frighteningly unfit and Yorkshire is one big hill! On Saturday received notification that my road will be closed at the end of March for the Bradford 10K ... the last time I ran a 10K I was two stone lighter and five years younger.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I work in Yorkshire - agree about the hills  Glad we don't have so many on this side of the Pennines
Good luck with the running - I can't remember how many years younger I was when I was 2 stone lighter - but definately more than five :eek:Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Hey Firefox. How is life going? Managed to do any running yet? I find it really difficult to motivate myself to exercise in the dark evenings. I need to try and get back to my walking again- I'm sure it will lift my spirits even if it's dark!!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

Just back from my first [STRIKE]run[/STRIKE] walk/ jog actually Jellie! :j According to the map we managed four kilometers in thirty five minutes (just over four miles per hour) which just shows you how unfit you can get in eighteen months ...
Yesterdays spending was £6 in Pets at Home on another food bowl and a clicker, and £5.50 in Home Bargains on loads of Ryvita cereal bars.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I never reach a jog so you're doing better than me!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
