Got two loads of laundry hung out this morning, and made a start on the cleaning. Went to Morrisons spending £6 on travel, £19 on six bottles of wine (£8 vouchers) and £30 on groceries (£5 voucher). Not too bad considering I was starving halfway round AND a different store is always full of temptations!

    Expensive items were
£5 on four bars of Lindt 85% chocolate (offer)
£5.70 on five bottles of squash
£4 on two packs of frozen cherries
£2 on a pack of air dried ham
    £2 on The Best sausages.

Fancied pizza, so bought tomato and garlic bread (£1.50 BOGOF), a pack of half fat cheese and the ham ... Two packs of chicken livers to make pate or cat food, frozen prawns and fresh sprats for Noah, and noticed they sell hearts for next to nothing.

Finally completed a really strange survey where I was asked about Rio Ferdinand in the middle of questions about financial stuff! :rotfl:

I'm thinking about something like thermal curtains too. The place we are in is a nightmare for heating- very open plan and very cold! Trying to think of ways of hanging fleeces or something over some of the doorways and windows without permanent rails etc as it is a rental property.

Fleece is an excellent idea - they are £2 in IKEA or supermarkets. :T Could you sew a 'tunnel' along the top of the fleece, then use some of that plastic coated wire that is meant for net curtains? You would need to screw a metal loop straight into the wall each side. The hole required is tiny and could easily be filled so I bet they'd never notice on checkout. ;)

A spooky thing has just happened. While out this afternoon I had a look around The Range, spying a lovely black and gold duvet cover. Just looked online to see if there are matching curtains for my living area, and find different curtains by the same designer that look familiar .... they are hanging in my bedroom!

Just spent another £25 in the Purrs shop on a Da Bird, fur attachment, straights for the Turbo Track and a honeysuckle squirrel. So £35 spent on toys this and last month!

Noah is one lucky cat :D

Thanks Claire and ShoeGal, but I think I am just as lucky to have Noah! It just makes sense to me to 'invest' in some decent toys in the first few months, and then rotate them. I think it's still MSE as Noah will get so much use out of them, and to combine with free toys such as tin foil balls and toilet roll tubes!

That was the kind of thing I was thinking of. Was going to make temporary curtain poles using command strip hooks (which don't leave any marks on removal) and thin wooden rods. Hopefully it will work!

Lots of financial post appeared in the last few days: £30 cheque from GlobalTestMarket :j £7 Clubcard vouchers, standing order and GiftAid forms for Cats Protection, PIN for one new debit card, card reader for the other.

Also received Noah's toys, including one item that was in the wrong box with the result that I get to keep it. Had sooooo many freebies this year down to mistakes! :money: Been e-mailed a £5 voucher code by Zooplus tho they are refusing to admit any shady practices.

Spent £21.50 of Amazon credits on a Samsung dongle so I can watch BBC iPlayer through my expensive television, and ordered another £10 Amazon voucher from IPSOS! Chased up Nectar points for the TV itself, and ordered £5 worth of Sainsbury vouchers which I am going to put towards boring energy saving halogen lamps to keep my electricity bills down.

Spoken to Virgin again and ended up putting the phone down on them! Rang PlusNet who were helpful, didn't use jargon and cheaper than BT, so will probably sign up with them.
