  • Ooohh you've been busy....

And well done on passing the kitty assessment. I've had cats in the past but have all been outdoor cats - I've never had an indoor one. And seeing as Clootie is a terrier I don't think there will be any kitties on the scene for a while.

But I hope you get one soon. It's worth looking in Poundland for toys - especially with a new cat as it might turn its nose up at expensive toys and then play all day with scrunched up newspaper......

I wouldn't have thought they'd remove a cat from the website without confirming I'd take her?

The soup is finished: looks like grey sick as I got bored of blending the mushroom mix, but tastes pretty good! Now debating yet more spending as just realised when Mr. Fire Fox leaves he will take the stupidly expensive Global kitchen knives, the temperature probe and the Bamix.

Sounds just like mine!! Lets face it most shop bought soup must be full of colouring.

Is the other cat you wanted still on the site? I'm sure they'll find a lovely cat for you.

Maybe you can persuade Mr FF he doesn't use these things much, doesn't really want them and there isn't that much room at his mums anyway??? ;)

  • Or !

You can hide them and claim you never had them in the first place. Will he really notice ? I hear that males arent very perseptive.

Fox and Noah, the white boys, are both still on the website. :D

Mr. Fire Fox is not going to leave his Global knives as they are £50 plus each (his fell off the back of a lorry!); nor the Bamix which he wanted for ages before I bought it last Xmas for £100. The problem is that living with a chef has ruined me as far as tolerating cheap kitchen equipment goes!

Anyway I have been coveting a sexy Rosle meat thermometer for ages - it's £32 in my local kitchen shop which is cheaper than online. :o And liking the look of some Stellar Sabatier knives - this brand turns up in TK Maxx fairly regularly so might pop down tomorrow. Debating getting an entry level Bamix which is £75.

Most stuff in the flat is mine anyway! The knives and temperature probe Mr. Fire Fox brought with him and the stick blender was a gift. I need to be nice, I still have quite a bit of his money in the bills account but the council tax is paid from his account as I was exempt all last year. It's currently in arrears due to errors by the council so I need him to keep paying. ;)

I've cancelled the direct debit for the TV license and downloaded the forms for a refund. As my TV license year starts on 1 October and I've paid by DD, we are six months ahead so I should be due about £70 back as the system works on complete quarters. :T If I cancel now I don't have to provide evidence; basically if any live TV is watched during October that will cost £35 which is a full quarter's charge!

I've also saved about £20 by being off sick for the last three weeks as I haven't had used the bus: it will probably be another three weeks before I return to work.

    I didn't realise he was a chef!

Isn't it sad that being off sick is a good thing in terms of debt busting! I hope you're starting to feel a bit better. Are you going to anyone to talk things through. You've been through so much I'd grab all the support you can in tough times. You sound like you're starting to move on a bit?
