just wanted to post something happy tonight. most members of this thread know about my sons disabilities and behaviour, and how they get me down. well tonight is totally different, i am so proud of my son joshua, tonight we have been to the mayor's award ceremony at the town hall, where he was presented with a medal, and certificate, in recognition of his hard work in the community, mainly helping out at another school, landscaping their grounds, and also mucking out the stables, at the local riding for the disabled stables.
    am so proud of him

  • I'm soooo tired tonight, and cried all the time I was washing up, so have stopped doing that and am not going to do anything else tonight apart from pack for the weekend. I'm so relieved to have got through my courses, but it's been really tough and taken a lot out of me. Thanks for your support, it means a lot. I always get tearful when I've overdone things.
The weekend will be better, DH and I are going to stay at my parent's while they are away. Lots of space, a 3 bedroomed house from a bedsit feels like luxury! I'm looking forward to it.
Ssssss, you leaving has me getting tearful again. Please don't leave in these circumstances. Don't let the mistakes of one person (who is human and makes errors) make you leave the company of your friends. You wouldn't divorce your wife because your neighbour upset you would you?
Well done to Shaz and your son
Night everyone, have a good weekend, see you next week

Washing up is enough to make anyone cry! Looking at the amount that's piled up on the bench in my kitchen at the moment makes me want to cry and there's only me in the house :o

Oh well, its waited for days, it can wait a bit longer... although I am tempted to put it all in the bath with me in a minute
(domesticity is not my strong point. Give me a chainsaw and I'm your woman, give me a hoover and a duster and I fall apart)

Have a good sleep RosePink - I hope you feel better tomorrow. Do you parents have a dishwasher?! ;)

This thread used to make me happy and don't get me wrong, it partly still does.. I used to feel like I could post anything here to get things out of my system and it would be fine. Now I'm not so sure. Don't get me wrong. You are all fantastic friends and you are very supportive, but lately there seems to have been a personal vendetta going on and it's making me feel uncomfortable.

Over the past few months we have seen regulars leave this thread for that very reason. We are all suffering from mental health issues - some of us depression, some of us personality disorders, bi-polar, addictions, eating disorders and so forth. We are all different, yet the same, given the fact that we all suffer and have to learn to cope with our illnesses.

It's my view that if nothing nice can be said, then nothing should be said at all. I also agree with voicing opinions, but not in a way that is vindictive and malicious. We've had our fair share of disagreements about things on this thread, and disagreements are fine. Wouldn't it be so boring if everyone agreed about absolutely everything? Where would the debate be then? (And you all know how I love a good debate. It's the philosopher in me. :rotfl:).

Anyway, I wish that whoever keeps reporting posts (and I'm talking about the ones that have a valid reason for being posted and don't break any site rules), would just stop and think for a moment. Why do you feel you have to report it? Is it merely out of disagreement? Or has it offended you? Or was it just posted by someone that you do not like generally? As I said, we all disagree sometimes. It's human nature but disgreeing with someone doesn't mean that the post should be deleted. It just means that your opinion differs. If it's offended you, then try to ask yourself why. I'm sure nobody on this thread means to offend anyone else but sometimes these things do happen. If it's just because you do not like the poster, then, to me, that doesn't seem fair. Nobody will like everybody they come into contact with - both in real life and on message boards, and that's okay. There's certain people we gel with and certain people we just won't get on with. There's nothing wrong with that. What is not very nice is just reporting posts because so and so posted them.

I love you all guys/gals. I really do. You're like my internet family. The people who understand me and what I've been through and still go through. You've been there for me through some pretty bleak times and I appreciate every one of you - regulars and newbies and I admire you all. It takes strength and courage to post how you truly feel.

Each and every one of you is special and unique, and so wonderful. You may not think it at times. I know I certainly don't about myself, but you are. You all possess qualities that make you each a fantastic person to know.
Never forget that in the eyes of someone you will always be at the top and you will always be the one person they admire. :)

    I love you all.

Well done to Joshua, Shaz! Its times like this that make you realise what a good job you are doing as a parent.:j :T

I totally agree with you LadyM. Wise words indeed. I don't know if someone is reporting posts or if someone is being trigger happy with the delete button, but I wish they would stop. Obviously, if someone says that certain medicines have x, y and z effect and this medication is better than that then, of course, this should be deleted. However, there does seem to be some posts that are being deleted that don't do this. Then when they are deleted the poster feels victimised and picked on. :(

Rosepink - have a good and relaxing weekend!

Tiff - Ive got an earth shatteringly exciting weekend too. Bit of shopping tomorrow with my lovely sister-in-law followed by lunch in a little cafe and then Sunday is spent cooking the Sunday dinner with OH. Riveting.
