Beachbeth - I find going to the jobcentre just the same as you, I absolutely hate it. I lost my job last year due to depression, and had to go there every two weeks to sign on so as to receive Jobseekers. I hated it.
Now I have a job but only for 14 hours a week as I can't cope with working more. I've been told by an adviser at JCPlus that I qualify for the new version of Incapacity Benefit (can't remember what it's called) but have not applied as I can't face the endless round of interviews, meetings, signing on etc. It's just too much especially as I'm doing what they would term 'permitted work.' I need to rest and recover on my days off not go to another stressful place!
I really understand what you are going through with this, and I hope you soon get your Incapacity reinstated. I agree that you should notify your GP how this is affecting you and see if he can make any suggestions - he may refer you to someone who can go with you. Would that help? Or he may give you a letter to say that you are exempt from going to the JC, they do have an arrangement for special cases where you can sign on by post. That's if you qualify for it, I know what you mean about having it when you aren't seeking a job!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Tiff, it's so nice to hear from you. I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. It's hard to have another bereavement so soon. I'm thinking of you - take good care of yourself, and make sure you let your GP (and us) know if you can't cope. Big hugs.
Big hugs to you too CCStar, sounds like you are having a really rough time. Hope you get things sorted with your accomodation"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Katie, I'm so pleased you are doing so well. You are right, it's important to keep busy and have fun, and not to isolate yourself. These are all tough things to do with depression, we all want to do the opposite, but once you start it's easier to carry on. Well done, so happy for you! Hope you keep feeling good.
Hope you find out what's in your parcel!! It's intriguing isn't it!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Midweek this morning (repeated at 9.30 pm today and listen-againable for a week) included a bit from Matthew and Ainsley Johnstone, who have written a couple of illustrated books about depression and living with someone with depression.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Thank you for you kind words, they mean a lot to me.
Feeling loads better and yeh I think the sleepless nights was a major problem, I got to the bottom of my DD's coughing and it is because she has got asthma, so she got an inhaler and doing ok now.
Take care xxxSarah, who is trying to make small changes :money:0 -
Hey everyone
Thanks for your welcome. Best wishes going out to everyone who is having a tough time at the moment.
I have spent the entire day in bed. I woke up this morning with a cracking headache, which made me feel pants so went back to sleep. Woke up about lunchtime with an even worse headache, and my pupils were completely dilated - made the headache worse and started me worrying. Anyway dozed off again and just woke up - pupils are still dilated, but have got sunglasses on hehe
Feel pretty rubbish to be honest. Had planned to have a good productive day today, and I haven't got anything done - which is really disheartening. I wanted to go round to the post office to post some things, which I have been meaning to for over a week now and still haven't managed. Run out of tea bags yesterday - which was a real bummer :rotfl:- so had planned to go into town to get some more. Now this means I've got even more to try and do tomorrow.
Am also worrying that at this rate, I'm never going to be well enough to go back to uni.
Anyway, thats my little outburst over, it just felt nice to get it out!
Now to trawl the freebies forums, see what I can find to cheer myself up!
