The problem with having a mental illness is that the nature of the illness means that we allow ourselves to be browbeaten into doing what other people want because we are too scared, anxious or simply unable to stand up for ourselves and make people realise how ill we actually are. We just struggle on trying to do the right thing by everyone else and actually its the wrong thing for ourselves.

You are so right. I try so hard to please others and do what they want and sometimes it is at a detriment to myself. I think its especially true when certain people are so used to you doing a, b or c that they take it for granted that you still will. Then when you tell them you are feeling depressed and can't cope with doing a, b or c they are really surprised by this and want more explanations. Its hard enough to understand myself why I have depression without having to try and explain to others. I usually end up trying to do a, b or c (usually with my heart beating fast and in tears) because its easier than explaining why I can't.

Thanks for your advice, whitevanwoman. I think I will make an appointment with my doctor and explain to him what has happened. I don't know whether he will up my meds or not but he may be able to suggest something else too.

Nice to see you here this morning, Tiff!:hello: I always look forward to your posts.

Please look after yourself and if you need comfort food or extra catnaps then have them. It is an extremely difficult time when you lose a loved one and you need to take good care of yourself. I have just lost a beloved dog and, although this is in no way the same as losing your mum, I can identify with how you are feeling. Just know there are lots of people here who think the world of you and are here should you need a shoulder to cry on.:grouphug:

Those who didn't see my post it was simply to say has anyone else found depression + meds has caused them to start snoring?

So come on whoever did this have the b4lls to come forward, otherwise I'm done here. Thanks for ruining my day.

Lol. I read this post quickly and thought you'd said "pretty" instead of "petty" - couldn't understand your point until I reread it! :rotfl:

    Thank you

    but this c n u t is the landlord:mad:

I could quite happily smash things up - we were given notice a year ago and 6 months ago, they want to build and got their permission.

I must never get settled or happy, it invites trouble, been the same all my life.

I feel so controlled by others, family and the world. I hate it:mad:
