Yep that's right. I asked if it was breaking forum rules, and was told later that it was. I then REMOVED all references to selling the GPS in my posts.
Just be careful you're not being a hypocrite when flaming people selling stuff on here - if you start slagging people off then mention you're selling one, no matter how cheap or expensive you're breaking forum rules and being a hypocrite, so best to steer clear and don't mention it.0 -
Somerfield Paisley should be getting some more Garmin units in at the end of this week. If you don't want to travel up to Glasgow try getting Staples or Halfords to do a price match - a long shot but might work.
Also Maplin have these on promotion at the moment but the price seems to have crept up a little to £159.99, but you can get voucher discounts off this I believe.
Somerfield Tonypandy Wales have the Medion PDA satnavs in stock apparently if anyone's after one of those.0 -
Have e-mailed Somerfield CS twice to see if any stores have the Garmin in and twice have been ignored!!! Nice to see that their customer service is top notch!!!0

MyUserNamesTaken wrote:From what I know, DrLunanerd PMed Italiastar offering to sell him/her a Garmin for £140 - 'slightly' more than the £99 price tag Somerfield was selling them for. Italiastar said no. I told DrLunanerd that he wasn't allowed to offer for sale stuff on here, and he removed the post. However, it obviously didn't stop him selling his Garmins for £140 each (as shown by LittonLad's post). In light of this, I don't think Drlunanerd is in any position to comment.
Wrong. italiastar contacted ME asking to buy one! I did not contact him/her soliciting a sale, only in response.
Can we all stop the hypocrisy and moral high-ground chasing please?!
And DON'T post other people's email addresses, names etc. without their permission (italiastar again) - that's petty and again breaking the rules, sheesh.
We're here to save money and help each other do so. If people want to buy stuff that they can't get themselves for whatever price they want to pay that's absolutely fine, it's capitalism at work and we're all wedded to it whether you think you are or not.
The only issue is the rules of this forum and they are clear, I know that now and you certainly should if you've been here so long.0 -

I do know the rules, which is why I told you that you are not allowed to advertise your own stuff for sale on here. Also, as I read it, Italiastar wasn't offering for sale his Garmin. He hasn't broken any rules on selling, either. You're stirring stuff up because Italiastar said that you were wrong to flog stuff on here for a profit when this site is, as you say, about saving money and helping others to save money. In other words, don't profit off other people's inability to pick up a bargain - not on this site, anyway. You'll find that many people here are quite willing to help others who cannot get to a shop selling a certain bargain by picking one up for them and letting them have it at cost price. That's the true spirit of this community. Helping others without profiting. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

We have been contacted by Italiastar who has pointed out that the link that was posted was not to their auction. I would like to publically absolve Italiastar on this point.
However, when we see a link posted in this manner in conjunction with a post, our first consideration is to our "no selling" rule and there appears to have been a few issues going on in and around this thread that skirt very close to breaking these rules. By posting ANY advertisement to a sale, it is liable for removal. In this case, simply saying that people were selling them on eBay would have sufficed.
I hope you can appreciate that we err on the side of caution in these types of situations, and i hope this thread can now continue in a more friendly manner

Hi would anybody know which somerfield stores in London still have the Garmin street pilot in stock. Ive checked Camden and Kentish Town and there all gone0
-
I'd say you're out of luck - all the stores out here (East London/Essex) were instructed to send their stock to one big store - Canvey Island - where they are sold out. I'm sure North London won't be any different...0

Just rang my local Staples and asked about the Garmin i3.
Was told that they have them in stock and that they are £249.99!??!?!?!?0
