    Yes, that's obvious.

The point is he's advertising the GPS for sale in his post which is breaking forum rules.

Well the auction has ended and the item has sold so they aren't really advertising anything now apart from pointing out someone who was making a profit from a post on here. Any other technicalities we haven't covered?

Sorry to bang on but you're still not getting the point. Please re-read his post - he says he's selling his own Garmin he bought for £99.99. This is against forum rules - he must remove this or get it modded.
  • Managed to bag one of the Garmin i3's from Staples for £120.

Quick question if anyone can help?

Do you know if you can use the car charger (that comes with it) with normal Duracell Batteries? (non-rechargeable)
  • I don`t think italiastar was advertising, he was making a statement regarding the fact that he was selling it and not as an invitation. Personally I think I was being a bit cheeky asking for more information in the hope that I could buy it cheap. I think its just the same as saying I`m selling my car, its a statement and not an invitation. I think Drlunanerd is being slightly pathetic, especially as he only joined this month. Italiastar good luck selling your Garmin.
  • Should the question not be, why has italiastar got a spare Garmin to sell as that means he has bought 2 and surely he only needs one?

I could ask the above question but Its entirely up 2 the individual

I think everyone should loosen up a bit stop the personal attacks and continue bargain hunting!

There is NOT a recharging circuit built into the Garmin i3 so you cannot charge the batteries from the car power supply!

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi all,

Does anyone know if the PDA has any of the following features :-

    . Wireless network
    . Bluetooth
    . Phone
    . Camera
    . Pocket PC 2003

Sorry for asking, but they're good to have extra features that some units do have. I've scanned the history of this thread but may have missed a link to a spec with process or memory. If anyone has the exact model I wouldn't mind hunting down that info also.

    Thanks,

    Dre
... and that's all I have to say about that.

Sorry to bang on to but if he's selling it to someone at the same price to avoid someone making a profit out of it on Ebay then more power to him. If he was doing it for personal gain I'd say remove it, if they're willing to offer it to someone who blatantly can't get one(and going by the number of 'where can I get one' posts people evidently can't), let them. For the cost of postage or driving to collect an item for another MSE member I think that's quite noble.

But lets concentrate on the rules and regulations rather than the "be nice" rule, if they didn't get one then go to Ebay and pay over the odds etc.

Edit: Ah I see where this stems from now, it was you trying to sell a job lot you had bought and were told it wasn't allowed. Were you selling them on at the price you paid like italiastar was trying to, your original post didn't seem to mention what price you were wanting off people on here? (And that's without even going into whether italiastar could have a spare one they originally may have bought for a friend/relative compared to a job lot evidently bought for 'trading' purposes?)

From what I know, DrLunanerd PMed Italiastar offering to sell him/her a Garmin for £140 - 'slightly' more than the £99 price tag Somerfield was selling them for. Italiastar said no. I told DrLunanerd that he wasn't allowed to offer for sale stuff on here, and he removed the post. However, it obviously didn't stop him selling his Garmins for £140 each (as shown by LittonLad's post). In light of this, I don't think Drlunanerd is in any position to comment.

I might be flogging my Garmin soon (probably on Ebay or to a mate of mine), as I now have TomTom mobile on my 6680. No-one offer me anything, as I'm not selling it on here (that's if I do decide to get rid of it). I paid £199 for mine back in September!

Incidentally, for those who have the v7 maps, you can get the v8 maps by ringing garmin on the 25th February!

    Wireless network - Nope
    . Bluetooth - Nope
    . Phone - Nope
    . Camera - Nope
    . Pocket PC 2003 - Yup

I assume the wuestion is regarding the PDA with GPS. Basically do a search on Mitec Mio 168 the unit is a clone of that...it's not a rebadge as the buttons on the front are different. Got one for my sis and she's well pleased with it, would have got one for myself but couldn't justify as I've a Ipaq PDA with a bluetooth gps unit...and the fact they had none left close to me :)
