My friend has the Tom Tom 5 on his mobile, should this work on the MM PDA? I tried to install this on my PDA but wouldn't work. Do i have to change the settings?

The Tom is more has more POI's and speed camera updates available.

Can you recomend any site to get the Tom Tom software.

    Please PM with any suggestions.

    Thanks

Tomtom mobile is for mobile phones, you would need tomtom 5 for the PDA.

to use tomtom 5 you need to setup the GPS settings on tomtom for the PDA
choose either the TomTom WIred GPS Receiver option or Other NMEA, 4800, SP2 in the GPS settings

Various sites sell tomtom, ebay is also a good source, but watch out as there are a lot of sellers selling pirated versions for the price of original...check ratings of seller if looking to buy from them.

What about this, the Mio version of the pda was in the Westgate Department Store (Co-op) in Beccles, Suffolk this afternoon for either £349 or £399, I can't remember which.

I was under the impression from another forum that you CAN use tt5 mobile on a pda?!

The main program installs itself to system memory while the maps are still loaded from the SD card.

Please feel free to correct me as there seems to be loads of different info floating about!

    Cheers

    Tom tom make

TomTom MOBILE 5 for the mobile phone http://www.tomtom.com/products/product.php?ID=208&Language=1

and TomTom NAVIGATOR 5 for the PDA http://www.tomtom.com/products/category.php?ID=1&Language=1

I assume there could be the ability to use tt mobile on a pda, but it would make you think why would tomtom produce two different products

Where did you get the speed cam updates? I can only find Tom Tom ones.

    BTW
The Talex is greatfor £39 if you need speed camera info only, gives warnings 500yds with speed limit , 100 yds and tells you to slow don if you are going too fast. costs to update tho

I used the links on the first page of this thread :)

Does anyone know if you can upgrade the UK maps on the Garmin? So when know housing estates are built, you can get them added. Preferably free! hehe

For all of ya who'd benefited from this FANTASTIC offer (still can't believe the i3 for £99), here is a link to get the external antenna at a bargain price for those who have problems with reception. Hope you find it useful.

Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

    Hi there,

I bought the Micromaxx PDA system and installed TomTom 5.210 on it no problems. Works like a charm as have also installed PocketGPS speed camera database with vocal "Gatso, Gatso 40" style warnings so i know what speed i should be doing. Also installed various other POI's like petrol stations etc.

Works very nicely indeed, very chuffed :)
