    Afternoon all,

Well, I am soooo desperately tired today. I did far and away too much on Saturday; a run into Northampton to get fog light fixed that some hooligan had tried to nick, then delivering the last couple of bundles of Beer Moos magazine, into Stony Stratford for fruit'n'veg from the market, and afterwards the Yule Bazaar at the local community hall.

I knew it was pushing my luck, but yesterday I quite literally couldn't move at all without assistance; I was exhausted, and the muscle pain was such as I haven't had since I first went on morphine.:(

I have much baking to do tomorrow, so I'm trying to have another recovery day today. Mr LW has suggested veggie bangers'n'mash for dins, so that'll be nice and straight forward.;)

I have managed to get the Yule cake iced, though. I finally decided on holly and ivy leaves, drawn freehand in food colouring pen, and a ceramic robin as a centre-piece.:o

I must remember to get Mr LW to put the BM and food processor on the work surface for me ready for tomorrow, as I can't lift them myself.

Oh, and while I think of it, please will someone tell me, who is John Barrowman that so many people here talk about?
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • John Barrowman is a rather good looking man who is in Torchwood. He is a shocking flirt and really bubbly. Unfortunately for the ladies, he has a boyfriend, or I think they are married now.

Try googling his name under google pics. Don't drool.

MSD - Treacle is just as bad as evil cat. I often suspect that evil cat is just waiting until the fire gets put on.

Well, tea tonight is stew because I can't fit all the stew in to freeze in the freezer. Need to sort out the freezer but I HATE having cold hands. Well, I shall have to make a decision. Never mind, dear heart is very happy about dumplings.

Thriftlady - so glad DS is recovering. I expect he'll have loads of gentle (((hugs))) so one from me, too, and have one yourself - I know what it's like to hand a precious child over to the surgeons, even though we know it's the right thing to do!

    Afternoon all,

Finally have been hit by the Christmas spirit, so have finished all my cards, almost finished pressies for family and just now need to re-arrange living room to take the tree that we bought on Saturday...feeling really proud of myself and in much better humour than I have for weeks.

Woke on Saturday morning to find that a cousin had visited very early, seen nobody about and left me two 56 lb bags of potatoes...he promised to get me one ages ago but I thought he had forgotten, just as well that I will have the masses for Christmas, one bag is Golden Wonders, a favourite floury potato here but always expensive as the yield is low.

Skip was filled over weekend, sad to see some of the things that we have been unable to get rid of on freecycle, I am sure that somebody could use them, but no results from several queries, we have kept anything that is made of timber to chop for burning in the fire.

Hugs to all who are poorly or have poorly dear ones, Christmas is always a lonely time of year for those who are missing family and friends for whatever reason

Oh dear! The smell! The aroma! I'm baking cookies for college tomorrow, as my birthday falls in the holidays. A class of 12 girls plus their teacher. Was thinking I would show them OS at its best. Have chocolate chip cookies for that and then for tonight at sewing club have made half the mix into apricot and ginger. Made some christmas cards for them too, little cut out christmas tree with a foil pot and then some tiny buttons for the decoration, glitter glue makes tinsel. Thought I might see if I can find some cellophane bags for the cookies and a bit of ribbon, then I'm sure they all get some! LOL.

editing... and I would just like you to all know I haven't eaten ANY (yet). This recipe is a huge amount, so useful. It has done 48 apricot and ginger and 45 choc chip. DS will be home in a bit and checking out the smell of cooking!

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :santa2: Hello!

Late on parade today! It has been one of those days, many phone calls, which has been nice and my lovely neighbour popped in for a cuppa and to fuss Penny. Not a lot of os'ing has been done although I have finished off a pair of fingerless gloves which are lovely for when I am at the computer. So easy to make:- 36 stitches, knit 2 purl 2 rib for about 8 inches cast off. Stitch up leaving gap for thumb!

Good news is that my poorly friend L is now home!:j She is still very poorly and needs her morphine for the pain and the tummy op to repair the mistake did not go ahead, they can't operate before May now as it would be too dangerous and she needs to rest. Still she is home for Christmas and there really is no place like home! Thank you for the best wishes and prayers, I am sure they have helped to get her home.

(((Hugs))) to Taplady and Lesleys family - I know she is out of pain but she will have left a huge gap in your lives. I am dreading losing L as we always wonder how long she can possibly keep going!

Must get a wiggle on and organise tonights meal - hm pizza with ham and pineapple, potato wedges in the remoska and some salad.

Thriftlady, so glad it all went well, is he home yet ? gentle hugs for him xx

Well the kitchen cleaning turned into a marathon, all base board things taken off and washed, hoovered under the cupboards, washed all inside, and I dropped an open bag of porridge oats all over the floor  , so spent ages hoovering that up, went into the garden to hang the washing and trod in hedgehog poo, , and walked it through kitchen so them had to bleach the floors. Three lots of washing nearly dry on the line, I now have it all drapped over the airers and rads.

And :j :j I have wrapped all but 4 pressies, OH said he will do the others, I sort of lost the plot a bit and could not finish, but at least most of its done. Did not get round to ordering the Xmas food online, so thats a job for tomorrow.

Aussie, you are VERY quiet, hope all is well with you, off to fetch dd in a while, and then wait for OH to get in, hope he has got good news re the payrise.

    See you all later x
