Length of signature

The signature should be 650 characters for everyone.

All text formatting contributes. e.g. If you highlight text and colour it red, this is actually adding and in the background which counts towards the limit.

It was 500 but it was increased to allow Board Guides to fit their signature in. Because links can take up a lot of space in the background ( [ url=http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=50]This Site: Questions and Suggestions[/url] ) some Board Guides can't even fit in working links to all their boards even with 650

Try highlighting your signature and clicking .
This will remove all formatting and you can try formatting it again.

Somtimes when you format text too many times, formatting codes can be left in the background and contribute to your limit

Your right, theres one of the boards i guide on that i cant fit on my signature cause of the length.

Here's an idea for BGs.

There could be a BG Introduction thread where each Board Guide makes a single introduction post.

E.g. mine would be.

I'm the Board Guide on This Site: Questions and Suggestion and Techie Stuff.

When posting on This Site Questions and Suggestions, please see if your answer is here first.

When posting on Techie please....
etc etc
