Length of signature

When amending my signature - keeps flashing up as an error, that signatures can't be longer than 160 (I think) characters. I've noted that other users' signatures can be FAR longer than this - why & how please?

I post on a couple of other forums occasionally and the long sigs which people put on are awful. They make the whole sites seem cheap and tacky, and you have to keep scrolling past 10-15 line signatures to read the 2 line posts in-between - it is really, really annoying :mad:.

I agree long signatures are silly unless theyr'e helpful.

Why not its the truth helpful sigs are just that long ones of no use are annoying my sig is very relevant has the Techie forum is my haunt and if ppl read my sig they can get away without a posting, as I have had numerous PMs saying thanks for the sig.

It looks like you have loads of spaces in your signature, like you've pressed enter a few times. This adds extra characters.

there's only about 3 'enters' and then the center tag.
