Big hugs to you and your family lil_me, a very brave decision and i'm sure the right one
    Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

    Great minds huh.:D

I just read Lil me's post and found that too, the read that you post it too matey. xxx

onlineid hope you have a lovely Christmas
holly ewwww!! Did you post the cards today?
Jayjay hope your DH is better soon, must be stressful when there is so much uncertainty
Summermoon, it will come together, if you can start a job before xmas you can do it any time, it can only be easier later! Delegate! Kids - well sometimes I'd rather be at work too, bless them, they mean well when they scream I am sure. I'd start with 5 pages, use 2 lines for every day making it like a diary with 1/2 hour appointments, cross through work shifts, sleep time, add necessary then add in where you can the other stuff (don't forget meal times)

My eyes are stinging!!! Owwww!!!! I don't think I have cried so much in ages, thanks for your support. PP they do become very much one of the family, she was my big baby girl, the only other female in here.......I think this one will take me a few days, I can still see her on the table in my head instead of my lovely girl rolling on freshly cut grass but hoping that will go soon, I was bad when my Dad lost his dog but he didn't live with me. Just a big softy I guess.

DSs sent to bed, DS1 played wonderfully with his Lego, sooooo quitely too, so pleased my Dad got him that. Do wonder if he'll build it once then that is all. DS2 sat snuggling with Luke on the sofa, he's my main concern at the mo. Him and Megan never did connect really well, but they always walked together, wandered together, occasionally laid together, it's the first time he's been alone for over 2 years (without another dog) Managed to get him to start eating his dinner, suprised as it's the first thing effected by upset is food, wondering if he knew too.

I do need to decide if I should warn DSs that Grandad couldn't get the Lego City sets, he's got them an alternative Lego but not the one they think, might be best. I'll have to try to get it another time...but I've just bought birthday present....maybe if they get money for xmas.
One day I might be more organised...........

IMHO where pets are concerned there are two camps...one thinks they are 'just animals'' and t'other KNOWS they are part of the family. Yes they leave us too soon and we know they will but they are, nonetheless, loved and a key part of the family. Those people who don't have pets 'because they die' are missing the point...we all die pet or person - but we love and are loved while we are here. And our pets love and are loved too. Megan was a special dog, will be hugely missed and fondly remembered (((hugs)))

Vultures are annoying!!! £72 for a Lego City sets that were under £50 in Argos, the reason they are out of stock is probably because people like that have bought them. Grr! I won't line their pockets, no chance!

    Valli, very true x

pigpen, has your DS been ok since causing the fire? I know how much things like that can effect them, DS1s terrible for bottling things up when he's done something which went wrong.

My goodness just looking in the mirror, crying all day, last 9 hours almost non stop, not looking good!

  • Haven’t caught up on thread on account of eyes hurting, but read last page (48) and have sent a little prayer and will keep on.
Lil_me – my condolences. Hope you feel better soon.
    Craftyscholar – Happy Birthday
I have not done much flying but have had one very good day (only) to keep me seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Went to the GP yesterday and have been signed off work. LOs are all clear of conjunctivitis and had their vaccines - DS his pre-school booster and DD her routine ones, 2 m behind. I have been resting quite a bit and it is helping. Put DD to bed early and DS and I have banished all of his toys to his play corner. I have decluttered LR floor, vacuumed and put DS to bed. Have started catching up on thread and plan to alternate it with catchup on all level one before bed.
The work will wait for you to finish showing the LOs the rainbow, but the rainbow would not wait for you to finish the work.
