Good luck for tomorrow LadyL i will be thinking of you.

PinkF i also think you should take some more time off to recover properly otherwise you might make yourself worse.
  • pink - you need to get fully well or you will be leaving yourself open to further infection and what about the places you work - you will be spreading germs there!

Pink if your immune system still hasn't recovered, you could end up being a lot sicker if you go back to work and don't rest - you're obviously run down at the moment and with asthma added to the combination, I wouldn't want it turning into something serious - I would take the time off if I were you.

Julie I know you said you were going to bed, but I didn't manage to post on the old thread before this one came up, so I'm sending you a massive hug here. It's heartbreaking when you lose a pet who has been so much a part of the family even if it is for the better in the long run. If you need to talk, just send me a pm as I know how hard it is from experience.

Happy birthday to JayJay. Hope you've had a nice day.

Serena I'm glad that your Mum is improving slightly more each day. My Nan is going to be 90 on Sunday, so I'll think of you and your Mum over the weekend. At least you will be able to go and see her and not worry about doing anything for school as you'll have finished for the term. Hope your last week goes well and that those nasty pupils are treating you better. Don't forget I'm always on the end of an email if things get too much. Take care of yourself.

On the flying front, I've nearly conquered mount washmore - I just have a couple of white washes to do before I'll be able to completely see my bedroom floor again. Just waiting for one more load to finish in the tumbledryer (outside in the garage) and then I can get ready for bed. I also managed to thoroughly clean the toilet today and it was sparkling.

Went to Pets at Home and bought 9 tins of catfood for my old neighbours' cats (3 each) as they always get our cat a small pressie from their cats, and bought a toy mouse for Ebony for £4.45. Also manage to buy some Salter electronic kitchen scales to go with my sister's book for Christmas for £9.78 from Robert Dyas, bought a red santa hat for £2 for my outfit for the last day of term, so had a successful day shopping again. We took our washing line back to B&Q cos it was rubbish, and went to Homebase to get one that we'd seen there, and it had been put in the wrong place on the shelves, and was £20 more than what we'd thought it would be, so we didn't buy one, so just using the trusty TD and radiator rails until we find another good one elsewhere.

Was really pleased with myself today as I made a really nice vegetarian sausage casserole that I'd cut out literally years ago from a linda macartney veggie sausage package, and it was yummy! We'll have the rest for dinner tomorrow. Didn't manage to make the mince pies though as I couldn't find our rolling pin (found now) so will do those another day.

Right, I've waffled on enough so will go and have a look for ovens (for the flat) and electronic pepper mills (for my Dad's xmas pressie) now.

    Take care everyone,

    sexymouse xx

I was hoping it was going to be kitchens tomorrow as I did mine today :D. Including testing the fire alarm. Twice. :rotfl::rotfl:Mind you I'm planning on doing some baking with my 3 year old tomorrow, so it will probably need a complete clean again afterwards :rotfl:

Just been doing my accounts and it looks like we are going to just go over our overdraft limit in the next few days which will mean a massive charge, so I'll have to put the child beneft money in on Tuesday to cover it. Which means I'm going to have to rely completely on what we've already got in for meals. I'm determined to get this overdraft reduced over the next 12 months (and it will probably take that long to do it. Trouble is as everything goes up except our income it's getting harder all the time. I'm really fed up with the constant (losing) battle with money. I'm only glad we don't have any credit cards!

in exactly the same boat myself

struggling more and more income is shrinking and outgoings rising

thank god for :money::money: dont know what i would have done without him

Count me in this week, although I won't be starting properly until mid morning tomorrow as I have to drive a friend to the DVLA office in Maidstone, so she can pick up a tax disc for her car - don't ask but apparently her new car's old tax disc has a disabled classification and she had to declassify it. So I am going to start flying again lunchtime as I really need to big time and thankfully DH has gone back to work, phew!!!!!!

  • Juliejim - ((((huge hugs))))), hun. A difficult decision, but the right one. My old vet said (dog and cat - a year apart) that we had given them a long and a good life, and it was "the last kind act". I've never forgotten her for that.

Jayjay - hope you have a had a lovely birthday.

Thanks for the feedback. ladies. I feel a bit of a fraud, but I've had sick notes for every week and the doc doesn't just give them for no reason. I think I'll be staying home again! I'm going to be as popular as sour milk, but I ache such a lot from coughing, can't be delivering training sessions without coughing and spluttering, and don't feel strong enough to be wandering around doing observations - apart form the high risk of spreading germs in care home, and my eyes keep watering - although that might be from reading some of the soppy stuff posted on here tonight! (Boddy - I hope you feel guilty for making me fill up!:o)

Pigpen - I've been taking zinc and echinacea since I started feeling rough, but don't think it's helped. As for Head Office, you don't know them. I had a staff survey the other day - I'm not sure how honest they expect us to be, but they won't like mine if I complete it as I feel. Also my colleague is a control freak anyway, and likes to show she can cope with anything, so won't ask for help anyway. She called while I was off before and DS said how rough she looked, but it's her choice - this is the one who is applying for a new job within the company as a trainer on one of our systems, which will entail working away from home for maybe 3 - 4 days at a time, with an 8 and a 10 year old, the 10 year old having childhood arthritis. Like I say, it's her choice and she is a very different personality to me, but my job is a means to an end, whereas hers is her life! IYSWIM. I''ve had emails that she has sent at 2 and 3 am!

Anyway, I'm off to dose myself up with inhalers, cough medicine and pain killers before diving in to bed with a couple of wheat bags. Hope you all have as good a night as possible. God bless all my lovely, caring and supportive "on line" friends! x
