  • Evening ladies.

It's been a long one in our house again. I thought the boys were on the mend today, but Charlie barely ate again and got himself really upset before bedtime and needed dosing up again. This is one mean bug. Even if he is feeling a bit better on Tuesday, i am thinking that i will probably not send him to nursery as he is so run down i don't want him to pick up any other nasties and not be well for the big day.

I've not had a bad flying day. I cooked a roast chicken, i managed to hoover the living room, get the tree up, bath Sam, and wrap up the last few presents that were knocking around while DH is at work this evening. The house isn't completely spotless under stuff, but i don't really care. The tree is up for the boys, and all the main things are done, and i will keep plodding. They need my cuddles and love at the minute, and when they are better and DH is off work, i will try to make it a bit cleaner than i am managing, and if not, we aren't even having visitors so i am not really bothered.

    This weeks prioirities:
    1) sort out DH with cards that need writing/posting for his friends
    2) sort out the fat cat - he has been put on a strict diet by the vet as she was unimpressed by the fact he weighs 9kg, when it should be more like 4 or 5. He'd put on 1/2kg in a month, and we had been trying, but we are now measuring out his food, and he is in a strop and sulking. She wants us to start taking him for walks, but i can't really see that happening anytime soon.
    3) sort the clothes - we have 3 full linen bins that i need to catch up on
    4) DH to pick up last couple of bits in costco that we want for our parents gifts.
    5) continue the clean/declutter mission in my own babystepping way. step 1 - dining table and TV cabinet
    6) stop the cats and DS1 demolishing the tree.

I will try and work with you all tomorrow a bit in the bathroom as apart from cleaning the loo i haven't done anything in there last week. I think i might have a bath tonight and make a start.

juliejim i am so sorry about your doggy. I hope the kids have took it ok.

jjef well done on your 'flattening' achievement. I have similar ambitions to crush the mountain this week so i can put down the ironing board and celebrate in style.

jayjay hope the birthday was very enjoyable

If there was something else i was meaning to say, my head is feeling a bit woolly to remember. Good luck everyone.

    Michelle, xx

Boddy - lovely about the hifi
Pink - take the time off! You need to recover properly otherwise you'll just pick up everything going
Mumofj2 - hugs about the redundancy but well done on the pt job.

I'm off to bed. I'm really tired tonight. I think it's because I know I've only 4 more work days until I 'break up' for two weeks and 1 day

So, most of my Christmas prep is still on hold until I'm off. But, I will get the cards to the post office tomorrow.

    Evening All,

Please can I be added to the list agin :)

I managed 2 days last week before I caught DP's man flu :(. It wiped me out for the rest of the week.

I'm pleased it's the bathroom first - mine needs cleaning.

Just one question if I may - what's a furry bog hat  . Do I have one??

  • Quick post then I might do some catching up before bedtime and I apologise for the fact that it is completely off topic!

:oBefore you think this is just a cry for sympathy, I know that there are a lot of my flying friends with a lot worse health problems. :o Most of you will know I've not been very well with chest infections, pleurisy etc. After almost 6 weeks off sick, I went back to work last Monday, by Thursday I was full of a cold, and even the manager at one of the care homes I visited commented on Friday that I was still unwell. Today, having coughed most of yesterday and during the night, I contacted the Out-of-Hours service and had to go and see the doctor. I was told not to drive myself by the person I spoke to on the phone (he called himself a clinician). Anyway, the doc checked me over very well and said my chest sounds quite clear at the moment, but he thinks it's just the congestion is playing havoc with my asthma and has given me a decongestant syrup to help. The question is "Do I go to work this week, coughing and spluttering as I am, or do I say "Stuff it" and take yet another week off, knowing I've then got two further weeks leave over Christmas and New Year, by which time I would hope to be fully recovered? General consensus would be helpful. I feel slightly guilty about leaving my colleague to carry the workload, but she won't ask for help from head office! And I also think that if I keep struggling on, it will just keep coming back and not clearing properly. Oh heck! What to do?
