Chocs on shelf in the lounge - that and kitchen the only rooms that survived more or less intact, well ,two engines full of men in uniform waiting for the gas board to dig up the path and disconnect before they could put out the fire in the gas outlet - I had to keep them cheerful somehow:rotfl:

Couldn't even make them a coffee - no water and no lecky.
  • :whistle:ahem! May I just interject? There has been a lot of talk about what a supportive bunch of Flyladies we are, but did anyone happen to notice a very generous offer from a certain Flygentleman? Round about (exactly) post 228? :A

    Evening all

Mudders so glad you are home and that all is going well. I bet spotty puppy was thrilled to see you.

Upstairs in looking more like a home than a hovel. Just going to do my list for the rest of the week and then sit and do a little hand sewing.

  • Can I join in please? :xmastree:

Discovered this thread last week and thought I would just lurk and get stuff done but didn’t. I think I need to step up to the plate, put my name down and commit to sorting my house out.
We’ve had OFSTED in this month and my house looks like a landfill from neglect. I am now suffering with a sore throat that feels like little razor blade cuts at the back and hot ash in my ears, a headache and other flu like symptoms. Called in sick today (4th day this month and feeling a bit guilty) will most likely call in sick tomorrow as well. DH, DS and DD are all poorly as well and they have conjunctivitis. DS got if from nursery and before we knew what it was it had spread. So on top of the fights to get the drops in it’s been lots of soup, lemonade and food from the freezer for us.
All that said, it would be nice to be able to excuse my problem with current circumstances but truth be told I don’t have an organised bone in my body, I am a bit of a packrat and I have never been house proud. That is until now as my nesting instincts are kicking in. I would like to get my house sorted by the time DD starts crawling. She is 6m next week so I reckon I have about 2 m to sort it all out judging from when DS started.
I’ll be doing it mostly on my own after work as DH claims that I have too much stuff and he is afraid to touch my stuff. But as I get things under control I think he will pitch in. At the moment he helps shift junk from room to room behind closed doors in a panic on the rear occasions that we have visitors.
I think if I follow this plan doing as much as I can it will all fall into place. For sure it will focus me on getting something done instead of burying my head in the sand and spiralling out of control.
I hope that I can keep up with this fast moving tread but I will commit to checking the list every day and doing the work then post when ever I can.

Thanks pigpen and all who make this work. Looking forward to getting to know you all.
    irie

    Hello all

Decided tonight to attack the list before logging on so have only just switched on laptop....

OMG pigpen - have only read the last page but sounds like you have been lucky?

    mudbath - welcome back.

I need to tidy up the wrapping stuff, go to the loo and find my list so I can cross some bits off (not necessarily in that order...) then DH will have finished work for the evening and we can watch nigella's christmas (providing sky box has recorded as it flashed up an error earlier...I just switched it off )

Welcome iriedaughter and good luck. The more decluttering you can do, finding homes for things, getting rid, selling etc the easier the whole thing will be.
