irie - are you a teacher? There are quite a few of us on here.

Yes. I have been teaching secondary maths since 1991, but it’s a bit much lately with a full timetable of marking, a toddler, a baby and a husband who works nights. The work will wait for you to finish showing the LOs the rainbow, but the rainbow would not wait for you to finish the work.0 -

evening peeps
once again a busy day so havent caught up with fred, although I did have to go and see what pigpen was up to      . So glad you are all ok, but did noone ever tell you when you call the brigade they come out with their clothes on, they're not like in the calenders at all
.
Its weird talking about fires as our AV guy came in to work today and said that his dad had a fire in his conservatory type room - at night. What woke him up was his carbon monoxide detector which was bleeping in the kitchen, went down to investigate and wondered why it wouldnt turn off. Only when he went to look in the conservatory where the washing machine and dishwasher were that he saw the room full of smoke, his MIELE  which apparently NEVER catch fire washing machine wasnt even turned on and had caught fire. Now heres the scary part - the smoke detector in the kitchen hadnt gone off because the heat had cracked the conservatory roof and the smoke was escaping upwards outside. The fire service said if he hadnt heard the CM alarm the flames would have gone up the outside of the house and caught the roof which would have burned until it collapsed
Anyway back to my boring but busy day.
Late start as changed hours due to afternoon/evening conference/dinner so worked 10 - 6.
Managed to tidy DD's room before work as it was a tip and OH would have gone nutso if he'd seen it so I saved her bacon.
Work was mad we had an hour to do a complete change round of the main function room and the pm session ran late which meant I didnt get finished till 630 (home 7pm).
Was on way home when DS rang me and reminded me that his GCSE presentation evening was starting at 730 so panick on as OH was at work and noone had eaten. Luckily tea was planned as a reheat that i'd taken from the freezer this morning so DS had it heated when I got home.
Quick munch and change then over to his school.
Back 915 and bit more munch, DD to bed and flying officially abandoned for this evening
.
Think I'm going to have an early night and do sarnies in the morning and might even wrap a couple of pressies upstairs tonight as well
Hopefully will fly tomorrow as should finish early but then I do have a hair appt at 530  . Does it ever stop this whirlwind I feel like I'm on sometimes.
PS welcome iriedaughter and I think there was someone else - it was katgoddess and now flis21 big welcomes. Dont worry it will take time, I've been here about 18 months and am only just beginning to get the hang of this flinging larkMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
