A while ago when I needed an online letting agent I was recommended Discount Letting (http://www.discountletting.co.uk/) from this thread who were very good. I need to let again, would people on here suggest Discount Letting again or are there other options these days?0

Urbansales and lettings i used them and they do use rightmove and they provided a good service, i had to provide the photos.

I also used housesimple who took some lovely photos, but i used them to try and sell...0 -
Hi new_home_owner, thanks for the recommendation. I'll check them out.0

Be careful of a direct approach like that.
More amusingly, they are advertising this property in Kingston Upon Thames:
http://www.urbansalesandlettings.co.uk/PropertyDetails-Chivenor_Grove-Kingston_Upon_Thames-Surrey-qvXfLKhcRMQ=.aspx
as 'let agreed'.
Made me chuckle as they haven't just let it at all. Its been agreed, let and moved in by another company entirely.
If thats just one I picked out (I know the property) then how many others are 'let agreed' to make them look successful. Don't be fooled.
In fact, having a look through there is a LOT of let agreed properties on their site. Point above stands.0 -

I used discount lettings recenty and found them to be excellent, although I didn't use any of their tenancy agreements, etc. I found it much easier than advertising in the local paper as calls were vetted and info sent through to me by text or e-mail.0

http://www.virtualletz.com also offer the same service as Urban and Discount Letting at £9.95 until the property is let. They also have the full back up of their sister agency Gorgeous Homes (if you want additional management help) which has an office in the 'bricks and mortar' world.
Now you can't get an ad in the local paper for that price - plus you've got the knowledge of knowing a 'proper' agency is running the show!0 -
Yeah, it seems as though they're trying to fill up their website somewhat.
Ive used urban sales and they dont mark your property as let you do it yourself when you log on, all i used them for was to get on right move and to get viewings, they dont get any extra for getting you tenants, and they advertise on right move until you mark your property has been let.
be careful a lot of them charge you again fter so many says urban dont, have a look at discount lettings, if your property hasnt been let after so many days they charge you again, urbansales and lettings dont.
Its all done online they contact you through email with the potential tenants and then you arrange for them to view, then if you and the tenant agree, you mark your proerty as let agreed.0 -
