Hmmm, personally I would put it on when you put them in to roast , like a sort of glaze?- but I don't think it really matters. It's literally making my mouth water thinking about it! For myself, the boiled appearance would put me off, so that's why I would roast them . Also guess it would add to the taste.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Thanks Zippy, I will try that.0

Well, we have just had these and they were beaoootiful!! We both agreed they are the nearest tasting to the chinese that we have ever had. They were in the SC about 4 hours, we put syrup (not honey) on them, and then roasted them. We had roasted them for a bit too long (they were a tiny bit burnt), but nevertheless, the meat was lovely and tender inside. Really, really nice. Next time we will just roast them for about 10 minutes.
Thanks Zippy for the tips earlier!

Hi, bought some pork ribs from Morrissons. Just done them under the grill for about 8 mins each side.
They have come out a bit crispy on the outside but not that cooked and a bit chewy on the inside. I am not in a hurry for them and think that stinking them in the oven on a low temp for maybe 30 mins or so might help. Will that be ok and for what temp? I need to be careful I don't crisp the outside any more...0 -
wrap them in foil, low heat about 120 or 150C (sorry,I only work in metric) for about half hour and check first?
you can also microwave for 3-5 minutes in a covered container. The microwave won't dry it out and will cook it quicker.0 -
Oooh thanks, gonna do it now!0

After reading this thread I cooked ribs yesterday. It was easy as anything and tasted delicious. After cooking in water and onions in the slow cooker for about 6hrs I put them in the oven with a blend of tomato ketchup, honey, soya sauce, sweet chilli sauce, garlic, brown sugar and Chinese Five Spice. I didn't measure anything, just bunged it all in a dish and mixed it up and spooned over the ribs which I then roasted in the oven for about another 25mins. I basted regularly with the sauce.
Tasted better than any I've had from a takeaway and will definitely do it again.
Thanks all for the ideas.:T:dance:Mash p'tater, mash p'tater:dance:0
