FIL gave us a pork belly which we portioned up and had the rib bones left. DD (10) wants to cook chinese next week and thought she could use the ribs as a starter.
Thanks Mary xx
I've added your thread to our main thread on cooking ribs where you'll find lots of tried and tested recipes.

We like pork ribs marinated and cooked in Aldi's sweet chilli sauce (it's labelled as a dipping sauce but it's great for marinating both pork and chicken in). The other day I did belly pork (some still on the ribs) in the sauce in the slow cooker, using 1/2 the bottle of sweet chilli sauce and no extra liquid. The meat was very tender, falling off the bone and there was enough liquid generated by the meat to thicken with a bit of cornflour to pour over the meat/veg after serving.
If I use the sauce on chicken thighs or drumsticks I cook them in the oven, mainly because chicken doesn't take as long as ribs to cook (I don't like my ribs chewy lol)I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0 -
Thanks everybody for your replies. I'd have never thought to put them in the slow cooker 1st
