My really easy ribs recipe involves chucking ribs in with a good about of BBQ sauce (the condiment, no need to get a special jar). Simple yet tasty! Finished off in the combination microwave on the oven & grill mode to get a crispy outer, but they're deliciously soft after 6 hours or so in the slow cooker.0

They are good cooked in cola with a good sprinkle of five spice and soy sauce. Slow cooker or oven (those roasting bags make them really tender).Bossymoo

As the title says I would be very grateful if anybody has got a BBQ spare ribs recipe that has been tried and tested that they would share PLEASE.
FIL gave us a pork belly which we portioned up and had the rib bones left. DD (10) wants to cook chinese next week and thought she could use the ribs as a starter.
Thanks Mary xx- jan GC £200

Ok - this is a slow cook recipe, but they are lovely - meat just falls off the bone.
put the ribs in a deep roasting tin. cover with boiling water, then cover with foil. cook in a low/medium oven for at least an hour. Drain, saving the liquid in a saucepan. Season the ribs with salt and your choice of herbs. If you're after chinese use soy sauce, a pinch of 5 spice. If barbecue use smoked paprika and a pinch of chilli. Put back in the oven, uncovered for half an hour.
Meanwhile, with the liquid you drained off make the sauce. You need something sweet - so 2 tbsp marmalade, or 1 tbsp honey or 3 tbsp brown sugar. Then 6 or so tbsp tomato ketchup, or BBQ sauce if you have it. season with salt, pepper and again your choice of spices. Let this boil to reduce and thicken. Add a teaspoon of cornflour dissolved in water if it looks too thin.
Finally, once the ribs have dried out and crisped up a bit, pour over the sauce and bake for another 20 - 30 minutes.0 -
I cook mine either in the same way as madnotstupid or by simmering on the hob. I like to use the Dr Pepper glaze from this recipe and it's really tasty!

I put in slow cooker, cut Into ribs, cover with kettle of water and leave on low for about 2 if not 3 hours..... About 20 mins before serving fish out, be careful, the meat may fall off bones!! Put on a foil lined baking tray and cover with sauce of choice. Bang in hot oven until they don't look boiled (lol) and the sauce has stuck to them- you may need to baste as you go.
If you leave in slow cooker longer it doesn't matter!!

Not a BBQ sauce, but these are very tasty and simple to do.
Salt and Pepper Spareribs.
I usually oven roast them and skip the chilli and onion"We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."
