To get up in the loft, sort it out, do several (if needed) car boots and Ebay sales.

On a ratio of 2 to save and 1 to spend would be ideal, but it might not always be achievable. If I can save at least £150.00 a month that would be better and achievable.

    Continue to meal plan.

I wouldn't mind learning a new craft through the local college which I turn to some cash such as cake decorating, flower arranging etc

  • 3. Stop trawling through MSE every 10 minutes when I'm working at something else and each time I walk past the computer.

Mmmm I'd never to stick to that one! :rotfl:

  • I loved the similar thread from this time last year as it gave me no end of inspiration so I shall be watching this thread with a notebook at my side again this year - thanks for all the ideas again, and the renewed inspiration to do better this year!

  • Wow, what a great thread. Some good ideas, must jot them down. I absolutely love New Years Resolutions. JackieO - I'll join in with you, we spend a shocking amount each week on groceries so I intend to meal plan, use what we have already and use the slow cooker more. Loved VJsmum's comment - "Be a bit kinder to myself and not feel that i have to do everything" - I bet that strikes a chord with a lot of us!

  • I never normally have a new years resolution, as I would never stick to it... and feel like I failed!

However, with the new year there is going to be a new baby in our home... and I hope that even with a new baby, I will stick to my OS ways and not start to slip (which I did some during the pregnancy due to illness) and to bring up Baby Roo as Old Style as I can :)
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

1- keep decluttering constantly so I can keep things as organised and minimalistic as possible
2- keep ebaying to raise extra funds
3- get back into habit of taking lunch to work to save pennies
