when do you have to register the sim card after recieving the phone.

i want to give this as a present and dont want to activate straightaway so how log can i wait

I registered my sim on Wednesday and haven't yet received the £10.

I just called the 0800 079 0006 number in India too. They told me I'd either have to get the top-up card swiped to activate it, or go into the Carphone Warehouse and ask them to sort it out.



[edit] Another thing I've noticed, is that istead of displaying 'Orange' on the front screen, the mobile often switches to displaying 'Emergency Only' and I'm unable to call the orange three digit numbers.

I've had this, usually in the centre of the house where the reception quality is low.

Got mine yesterday. It seems to take my Yallo card. When I can work out how to change languages I will be able to see it in English.

Well you're all lucky! I ordered mine last Wednesday and got an e-mail saying it was out of stock. However on Thursday (18th) I got another e-mail saying stock had arrived and that my order would be dispatched shortly. Nothing has happened so I call CPW today only to be told that it was out of stock (again!) and that they wouldn't be getting any more in, would I like to be put through to the ordering department to order a different (i.e. more expensive) phone?!

This just confirms my already low opinion of CPW.

What happened to the old fashioned keeping the customer informed? If you had never rung them you would never have known about it. You could try the phones4u one; it is a better deal, but not too sure if it is unlocked.

My phone has been on since 22nd dec, registered on orange website, and still no 10.00 credit as of this morning.

Am I doing something wrong.
