  • My postman is brilliant he comes from the Elton Delivery Office which is ten mins walk from my house. He always leaves my parcels in my back yard at the back door cause I asked him to. So if something gets pinched its my fault. He comes between 8.30 and 9am. Xmas is always a busy time, some of the cards sent to me have been held up a week. And I sent my handmade xmas card to my friend in newcastle fully addressed last week, and she has just visited me today and still not yet received it. Its just the way things are. I would not mind being a postwoman, but there are no jobs nearby.

Ok, I admit, I see what some of u guys are putting up with.

Deliberately let one of the drivers take a package out to my home address as I thought the daughter would b home. Daughter decides to go out for a wee while, leaves note on door to leave any parcels next door at #9. Alas van driver pulls up at this time. P739 (sorry u were out card) gets put thru the door stating my parcel has been returned to the delivery office, wrong name on delivery card, so if i was picking it up from office it would have been a nightmare to find, however the driver left it with a neighbour, (although failed to state this on the card), daughter calls me in a panic as she had missed him, Meanwhile i'm round at the office waiting for the driver to return with my packet, telling daughter, don't worry, i'll pick it up here. Driver turns up, i ask him about it, he tells me, he left it with the woman across the road, "oh what number?" i ask him.."errr..emmm... i don't know, the one with the side door". Luckily the lady brought it over to me when she seen me coming home, but if this kinda thing is happening everyday to motp then no wonder royal mail are getting a bad name

Luckily this was a very cheap item and not the £200 camera i was expecting that day, but needless to say someone is getting a kick in the nutz when i get into the office today. Maybe i should take my delivery card round with wrong name on it and set them all in a panic about my missing item (I would but it's me who would have to look for it)

On a brighter note, i would like to wish all the good posties a very happy xmas, and tell the van drivers to get it right!

    Happy Christmas all.
