Taplady - good luck with the exam. (((Hugs))) for last week; Wednesday was my lovely Dad's birthday; he would have been 78 but died forty years ago, so it's been a sad week for me and especially for my Mum. So many years without the love of her life.

Mr tru came home from work with a B&Q gift card –YAY more free money, lol. We sped off to spend some of it and when we ‘paid’, they gave us a free £15 gift card for spending over £100 :rotfl: Can you believe, B&Q don’t sell carpet sweepers

Mr tru was supposed to be working today but he’s taken the day off. So he’s getting the decs down from the loft then we’re off to Morrisons.

So I've ordered the turkey, bought the Roses, Cadbury's choc fingers and After Eights, do you think it’s about time I actually bought some Christmas presents?

    Morning everyone

Taplady - good luck with your exam!

Another chilly morning :snow_grin Well I will wake up before the heating comes on won't I

Work today, then it's our Christmas party tonight :xmastree: I really looking forward to it, we're all getting dressed up in our party frocks :D Dinner, taxi, disco and half a bottle of wine all paid for - so should be a great night.

I need to get a birthday card today and some icing for DH's birthday cake today - he's the big 40 on Sunday. He's had his present from me early (electric guitar) so I feel a bit mean not giving him anything on the day (any ideas for a free present  ).

Need to wrap up my secret santa present (I bought a pair of leather gloves), sort out DD's clothes (non uniform day) and make her packed lunch - DH and I are having last night's leftovers.

Dinner tonight will be chicken parmigiana (sp?) for DH and DD - I'm eating out ;)

Have a lovely day everyone (((((hugs)))))

    ;):rotfl::D need i say more ?

(((hugs))) to all those in need.

Taplady - Best of luck with your exam.

SOMO1 - ask Hester about free pressies ;)

Off to town this morning to M&S food see if they are doing the eat in for a £, will also look for a little something for DS teachers as we dont have their presents yet.

Will have a look in Woolworths - if I can get in there. Then at 10 I have booked eyebrow waxing  glad to get it over and done with.

Had chicken last night which had been yellow stickered and will have the remains of it tonight with rice its the kids favourite meal. Dont think will bother doing any housework today but will concentrate on the ironing when I come home.

    So glad its Friday.

    :xmassmile Morning all

brr..woke up this morning and when I headed out to work at 5.30 it was into sleet. I am such a warm blooded wee creature and just about come to a standstill when Im cold and wet. DH says I should have been born rich so I could winter in warmer climes.

Anyhow big warm hugs to all who need them this morning. My thoughts are with you all whether you are ill, feeling down or worried about the job situation. I hope 2009 gets better for all of us.

Taplady Good luck today and I hope that you have a good visit with lesley (bah good isn't the right word but you know what I mean) Having worked in palliative care in the past it is so important for family and friends to be involved at this time)

Tru I just love your daily verses. Thery always bring a smile to my face. maybe present shopping may be a good idea :D

I am still dithering about whether to do my grocery shopping tonight, or leave it till tomorrow and I have absolutely no idea what is for dinner. Does anyone else ever have these days where decisions seem to just be beyond you? I'm sitting at work with my mug of tea and have no idea where I'm going to get the energy to be all bright and breezy today.

I'm tempted to brave the ravening hoardes in Glasgow tomorrow to finish off the last few bits and pieces I need which are mainly just stocking fillers for DH and mother. Maybe will leave it till the following week since with brain meltdown I will wander around not being able to make my mind up about anything :p

Take care all and bright blessings from me to you

Busy busy busy... or at leastI should be, still, sitting with my SAD lamp in the mornings is important to my well being,

DH home this afternoon, so that's Manchester airport run, then my wrinklies are home tea time, so that's Liverpool airport run, All 3 wrinklies eating here before we go to ds's concert, DH is on work's do, so no doubt will be woken up long after I have gone to bed LOL! Got some mince, not sure what time we can eat, so good choice. Have some sponge flans from approved foods, so must rummage in the freezer for some fruit for it. Custard or squirty cream.

Aside from all that the kitchen is looking distinctly grubby, Have the morris dancers all (prob will be 20 of us) coming for lunch on Sunday. All soups are made and frozen, MIL helping out with apple pie and mince pies, I have almond cake in the freezer, so will prob just do a batch of Twink's hobnobs or similar. was wondering about the breadcrumb cookies. Anyone done that?

    Have a good day.
