    what's slicethe pie, BTW?

sounds like you are (as every day now!) on a mission, hope your day delivers. i've briefly thought about cleaning our bathrooms too, but instead have put on load of washing, made a hot drink, and come back to bed for a quick skive on MSE while the kids watch tellly! then off to see a friend (who also cuts our hair at a bargain price) and hopefully not back home til teatime so the bathrooms will have to wait :D

I've cheated on bathroom cleaning, my parents arrive on wednesday so I'll only have to do it all again then so insted I've poured 1/2 a bottle of very very cheap coke down each loo. Part b of my master plan involved plonking 2 very muddy small children in the bath armed with a flannel and sponge each and telling them I'd let them have a biscuit each if they polished the tiles and the taps that they could reach from the bath. I now have a shiny clean bath, sparkling tiles and a very sparkly loo and well as 45 minutes peace.

I was on a mission this morning! Quite tired now though :D My usual mammoth update to follow....

Slicethepie is a website where you can "scout" new music and get paid for it if you review a track and your review is more than 100 characters long. I was playing with it this morning but need to really have a look on here at the pie thread and find out more information about how to make some cash. I listened to some really good tunes on it this morning (And some utter pish!)

Are they available for a very mucky bathroom in Edinburgh??:rotfl::rotfl:That is one of the most ingenious parenting tricks I've heard in a while!

Aaah sadly not. They're sitting in PJs in front of the fire munching apples having tidied the lounge, swept the floor and cleaned out the log burner in the dining room. By way of an exchange I braved theri bedrooms so its not quite as harsh as it seems.

    Evening all! cow.gif

I think that the easiest way for me to update this thread is doing the good and the bad, so let's start with the bad, shall we?

    Bad stuff (Boo!)

    • Work was a bit carp and it felt like I was dealing with a gaggle of muppets all day :D
    • T'other half didn't do the dishes. Nor did I :o
    • Accidentally spent money, lalala. Nothing major though. More than made up for it in the good stuff below...
    Good stuff (Yay!)

    • I did most of the stuff on the list I posted this morning - woo woohoo1.gif
    • Maths has meant that I have more money that I did this morning, observe...
Paid in £100 in Christmas cheques. £80 to my account for the sales, £20 allocated for tomorrow's debt payments.twocents.gif

Closed share account I started on payday as the share price is mince, and I wanted to work the budget out without that £50. So, £40 to sales account, £10 allocated to debts.
    twocents.gif

Closed monthly savings account with 2% interest. £75.22 received so £25.22 into my ISA in case of rainy days, and £50 allocated to debts.
    twocents.gif

So, all in all, if maths is my friend, I have an extra £80 to use for my PAD tomorrow. Wheeeeee....!!!
    twocents.giftwocents.giftwocents.giftwocents.giftwocents.gif

Just a month ago I would have used all this money for carp I didn't need, but now I am really seeing the value of paying off my debts. I honestly can't believe the change in myself in such a short space of time. I'm even thinking of using some of my sales money for a slow cooker - has anyone got one and are they any good? I'm not master chef so I would like to know if they are easy to use!!

Anyway, I think that's enough of my nonsense for one night. Enjoy the rest of your evening folks.

    Good morning all

Another shameless copy and paste exercise for me, so I can post on the What Small DFW thread before I go to work. I swear, I get more done from my list if I feel that the People of the Internet are watching over my shoulder :D

So, today I have done/will do:

    • Make total PADs of £121.96 (Boring details of where I found a spare £121.96 on my thread and on the PAD thread) but whirrooooo!! If only I could find that kind of money down the back of the couch every month!
    • Checked online banking
    • Done more washing
    • Aim for a NSD
    • Take my flask of hot water in to work - what I will not do though is drink loads of water in the afternoon so that I have a very uncomfortable bus journey home followed by a sprint from the bus stop. Not that I did that yesterday at all :o
    • Not pay for lunch as there is a festive buffet at my work
    • Clean up the house for Santa :xmassmile
    • Get a free paper on the bus
Have a lovely Tuesday all, only two more sleeps till Santa :D
  • FAB idea about the slow cooker! very easy to use. you will find loads of threads on here with great ideas about what you can bung in them. depending on the size you choose, you can get a freezer full with minimal effort by batch cooking, or just enjoy that "someone else has made this for me" feeling - by the time it's ready at tea time, the small amount of effort it took to make was hours and hours ago!

this is one thread that i keep an eye on, but there will be others....

    Hello everyone cow.gif

Only two more sleeps till Santa :j I love Christmas!

Thanks for the comments from those who have commented, it's nice to know that people are reading. Like I said this morning, I'm more motivated when I feel like the Internet Folk are looking over my shoulder

So, on with the good and bad of the day.....

Bad things (For this is a short list)

    • Work. I haven't worked at Christmas for a few years, and it's quite depressing, blah to working Christmas Eve too.
    • T'other half came to bed at four this morning and woke me up (Not on purpose) so I am tired and cranky. Bah. insomnia.gif
Good things (Plentiful, in keeping with the season!)

    • I made my £120ish payments to my credit card/overdraft and bounced into work bounce.giflistening to AC/DC on my iPod. So far, so happy.
    • My friend saw me walking in and shouted to me, but I didn't hear her (Too busy bouncing inbounce.gif) so she bought me tea anyway. Free tea, woo!
    • Christmas themed team meeting at work. I won a selection box and shared with the team
    • Free buffet lunch, again with the Christmas joy. I ate my own body weight (a not inconsiderable amount) in profiteroles. Oh yes, there was free cake too
    • Boss had three full loyalty cards for our overpriced Starbucks canteen franchise, so we all got free tea in the afternoon
    • Won tickets to Edinburgh Hogmanay ceilidh. [STRIKE]Can't go sadly, so if you are an Edinburgh-based MSE person or know one, PM me and you can have them, I think there will be two tickets and they have been put in the mail tonight according to the nice lady on the phone. We can meet up in town and wear red carnations like they used to do in spy movies so we don't fall foul of the "Don't exchange personal details" rules on here[/STRIKE]
    • T'other half has cleaned my kitchen HSdishes.gif He's not a lady, bloomin sexist emoticons...
I think that I have now spewed forth all the information about my day today! I'm off to make some food and then sit down and play around on the forums. I'm sure that people on here must be getting sick of me, but the more time I spend stalking the forums the less time I spend online shopping or playing online bingo :rotfl:

    Have a lovely evening all.
