Hi Friesian
Really enjoyed reading your diary and think you have done brilliantly
I have been planning to sell a few books, I know for sure I have a few which I would never ever read again (rubbish chick lit stuff). Were your books in really good order? Was it easy to list on amazon? I've signed up to the £1009 in 6 mths challenge so def need to get on the case!
Good luck on your journey!
I have some books that are in amazing condition (spines not even broken) and some in not so good condition. My plan is to Amazon the perfect ones, and sell the others as a job lot on Ebay. I have done this before with books by one author - I sold a shoebox full of Ian Rankins to a guy from Ebay as I did a postage discount.
I have found before, and it's been a couple of years since I sold with any real effort, that as long as you are honest about what you're selling things will sell fine. Amazon can take a while though, so make sure you have room in your house to keep them while you're waiting!! I am going to give most of my books a month, if they don't sell it's off to the charity shop where they will hopefully make money for a good cause.
Thanks for popping in:D0 -
You have come such a long way in such a short time, you go girl!
I am in the mind of 2009 is a new year and a least a little progress has been made. Time to shape myself!
Good luck with the book selling, I have a few to get rid of but nothing that is really worth anything. I have parted with a couple via green metropolis but went and got a couple more *whoops*.

Good morning all
MY Quidco account is sitting at over £15 this morning in tracked/validated money. That's quite exciting!! I did open a savings account through them that doesn't seem to have shown up as it was meant to track £20 for me...it could take 2-3 months though, I want to see it now!
My list of motivation for today includes:
- [strike]Check online banking[/strike]
- [strike]Make my PAD[/strike]
- [strike]Breakfast at home[/strike]
- Take flask into work for coffee
- Finish work early (Not DFW, but woo our office closes early for Hogmanay!)
- Go to shopping centre to take back things from yesterday to M&S
- Go to New Look to see if I can get work clothes in their sale - I've signed up to the £100 clothing challenge for 2009 and want to see if I can get a last minute bargain in 2008
- Make lunch and dinner using food we have in the house
- Washing
- Don't go into town for Hogmanay - we're going to visit a friend to have booze and boardgames and my best mate is driving(No booze for her!), so no taxis needed either. I will be consuming a £1.80 bottle of yummy Bucks Fizz from Tescos too!
Have a wonderful New Years Eve people, what are you all doing?

eeek! 100 quid for clothes is BRAVE! mind you, i don't spend a huge amount on clothes for any of us (primark tart, hand-me-downs, asda) but always have a little splurge when we go to my mum's in america. so i won't join the challenge, but i will think carefully about what i'm buying. i have a real weakness for socks and pajamas and we all have far more than we need!
so do you reckon that amazon is better for good condition books? i've only ever ebayed books before. maybe i'll have a book cull in the new year, need to clear out the understairs cupboard to get to them so *not* a job for today!
have a lovely inexpensive night out with your friends. we are home with the kids, pizza, wine (fizzy for the kids), dvd's and maybe a bit of wii playing. i hate starting the new year with a hangover so will be a fairly sedate evening
xxMortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

hi we're not really doing much as Oh is doing a 12 hr shift tomorrow, so just a nice dinner, tv and early night.
You have a good time at your party, board games are very underated these days what with all the computery type games around.0 -
I'm going to my friends house, there are a few of us over for cocktails and dinner. I'm hoping work will let me out of work early as otherwise might miss the cocktails
I think the night will degenerate, as it normally does, to my friend being 'dj' and playing music videos from the various music channels while we sing (wail) along and dance to the videos and my friends husbands will no doubt drink more and more whisky to get through the horror!!! Can't wait!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Evening folks!
I'm about to make dinner and jump in the shower in preparation for going to our friends house tonight, but I thought that I would post my plans for 2009 - not resolutions, they get broken. These are plans:
- Pay off my overdraft and my credit card by the end of the year
- Spend less than £100 on clothes as per my latest challenge sign-up (I cheated this afternoon by buying a pair of trousers and a new dress as they were bought in 2008 and the challenge is for 2009 :rotfl:)
- Take t'other half for granted less
- Complete the Summer Sizzler challenge and use the majority of the money to pay for a kick*ss 30th birthday present for t'other half. I know what I'm buying him, but am not posting this on the internet just in case
- Once the overdraft and credit card are paid off start putting money into a savings account to pay off the loan as it's front loaded interest so there is no point in making the payments into there directly
I am also not going to succumb to buying items from Boots just because they are on offer. I have so many shower gels and shampoos at the moment it's ridiculous.
Right, off to the shower then make dinner.
Enjoy the last of 2008

Hope all of you had a lovely time, whether you were out on the [strike]p*ss[/strike] town or staying in.
I went to my friends house, ate more than I thought was possible and consumed a fair amount of Bucks Fizz. We did get to open parcels though as we didn't get to catch up with people before Christmas, so we had a mini-Christmasand I got yet more Dr Who/David Tennant books and a cow puppet :rotfl:
I started to fade quite soon after midnight though as I had been up since six for work, so we headed back and I was in bed for two. I did loiter on the forums here on my laptop though, so didn't go to bed till almost three and then work up this morning at half seven :rotfl:
Still, although I have spent a good chunk of today online, I have also:
- Done washing
- Done dishes
- Hung up washing
- Played with the cats (My friend gave them toys for Christmas and they are happy kitties indeed)
- Sold stuff via musicmagpie, got £8.95 coming at some point
- Agreed to total up the PADs for January (Must have been the Bucks Fizz talking) which is going to be quite a job! I think I am going to have to do it daily and keep a note on the pc, that thread has a life of its own!
- Cut up rogue Christmas card to use for gift tags this year :rudolf:
- *edit* Have listed some DVDs on Amazon as well! **double edit** One of them sold already!! Now, to the internet to check if the Post Office is open tomorrow!
