slow cookers are great, they make even cheap cuts taste yummy and are great for those of us who have to leave the house to work, set it off in the morning and it's ready for when you get home, hey presto.
ps i love the name and the moo cow smilies, we always called fresians toffee cooows0 -
Hi there,
I've just read all your thread - very entertaining, you write it really well;)
You sound like you're doing sooo well with the PAD challenge and NSDs. I'm all ready for the new year, armed with shiny notebook and brand new 2nd current account to use for groceries, I'm raring to go.....maybe I need to get out more?!?!:p
Anyway, keep posting, I shall definitely be looking over your shoulder, checking up on those long lists...might give me some inspiration for my (very boring) lists;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Thanks Milly!! I find that doing a list in the morning really helps me out, so with that in mind, here is todays!
- Check online banking
- Make PAD - only £1.50 today but every little helps!
- Bring flask of hot water to work
- Make lunch to bring to work - we're only working till 1pm but I'm used to lunching at 12 and I will starve if I don't eat
- Go to Tesco  I must be out of my mind. I did get yummy dinner for under £4 last year so I'm letting that spur me on!
- Tidy the house for Santa coming :santa2:
- Wrap final presents (And find the wrapping paper I thought I had left!)

Morning!
Why oh why am I working today......still at least I am able to work from home today so guess that is a bonus in some sort of way?? OH is still tucked up in bed, not fair! Mind you he will be off to work this afternoon and not home until early hours Xmas morning so I guess I shouldn't complain.
Good luck in Tesco - it'll be worth it if you can find those bargains! Think we are all sorted for food and Xmas dinner is at OH parents so don't have to worry.
Enjoy your day........xNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000 -
Hello all!
Before I nip off to clean the house for Santa, I wanted to throw in another little update.
I got up and ready for work then my neighbour knocked on the door and told me that water was coming in from our flat to her bathroom ceiling :eek: It was going to cost me £130 for an emergency callout for a plumber so we had a little look at it. Looks like my flipping flatmate wasn't paying attention when he was in the shower and the water (which doesn't drain very well) had gone over the sides of the shower tray and into her ceiling. This should dry out and we can look at getting the shower fixed after New Year. My stress levels were up to ninety though
I went to work (only ten minutes late after all that drama!) did what I needed to do and then got let off an hour early which got me to Tesco nice and quickly. I got quite a few (non-festive) bargains which will be going in the freezer like kievs for 83p (for two) mince for about the same and sausages for £1. I think I went too early/late for the real bargains though. Luckily I have an emergency chicken (!) in the freezer, so that's our dinner sorted. I got two bags of shopping for £4 by using my Tesco clubcard vouchersand I now have a whole banoffee pie just for me as t'other half will be eating his huge cheesecake. Mmmm....!!
Anyway, have a lovely Christmas all.

Good morning all
I hope you all had a magnificent Christmas and that Santa was good to you
I had a wonderful relaxing day, with minimal hassle or stress, which is what Christmas is about for me! I did wake up horribly early (as I have done again this morning!) but used the time to tidy up the house a little and check out the online sales! I have a budget for sales shopping of £200 and spent £50 of that yesterday on underwear from M&S - I'm addicted and nothing can be done to stop me - and pyjamas from La Senza. Cow themed pyjamas for one set
Santa was incredibly good to me yesterday. I got:
- Perfume (ckOne and Lovely)
- Necklace from mum
- Candley things
- Socks
- Gifts noted a couple of posts above from t'other half. He knows my geekiness too well
- Third series of Doctor Who from in-laws (I got the first and second series for my birthday so I am in Doctor Who heaven at the moment!)
- Lamp
- A mug with a hat (To keep the tea warm!) The hat is also china, not woollen!
- I'm sure I got other stuff that I have thoughtlessly forgotten to put on here, but it's early and I can't remember what :rotfl:
but loves his Lego.
We had a nice relaxing day though in the end. I made Christmas dinner which was amazing - chicken, peas, stuffing, dauphinoise (sp?) potatoes and gravy - and cost about £6 all in all. We ate that while watching the Doctor Who Christmas Special, which I loved and may well watch again today if it's on the iPlayer!
After dinner, t'other half's sister and her boyfriend came over and we ate cake and watched the Wallace and Grommit special, which was superb. More nonsense was talked, a good time was had, and when they left I fell asleep on the couch for hours :rotfl:
All in all, I had a wonderful time, only 364 sleeps till Santa comes :snow_laug:santa2:
