Love your little cows!
Your budgets all seem good. Don't blame you for the non negotiable thing on the holiday - how fantastic to go to the olympics!

I live about ten minutes from the Gyle on the bus (Near the prison :rotfl:) I love where I live - I have been in Edinburgh for 10 years, since moving down from the Frozen North and love it. I can't see myself moving from here for a long time!
Ooh - postie just came and I got my free miniature whiskey (Highland Park) that I applied for from Scotland on Sunday. My dad will love that!0 -
Hello flying_fresian!
Good luck with your diary...I shall be subscribing! I love it when one of the "what small DFW things" gang starts one! :j
Just a quick thought. I'm going back to uni next year and as I will be a full time student, me and OH will be able to get single person discount on our council tax. I don't know if you have to be a full time student or if that's only for certian councils but it might be worth a look if your OH is in college?
Lots of love

to everyone who has popped in to say hello!
I decided not to put off calling Virgin Media and called them to see what they could save me...
I have the phone line, XL telly package (It's not hugely pricy, t'other half gets Setanta, and I get all sorts of keech to watch!) and XL Broadband, which is allegedly 20MB. I asked to reduce the broadband to the L size (Still 10MB and more than enough to run our three computers) and somehow this was going to take the price from £56 per month to £65
My plan for the rest of the afternoon is to check out their website and see what they are offering new customers, then calling their disconnections people to see if I can get anything. If not, I am going to buy a Freeview box and look for another internet provider. All suggestions gratefully received. Also, I am going to look for another mobile contract. All fun and games in the Fresian household today...0 -
Hi Fresian, love the ickle cow, have you thought about a spending diary? It might show where that £200 goes if there's no other DDs or SOs on your account. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

 Have had a look at the Virgin Media website, and you can get the same deal that I have for £38 http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=15163 for the first 6 months, £45 thereafter, which would still save £11 a month without disrupting the services we get. I am going to call them tomorrow I think - not in the mood to argue with them again today.
I looked into getting a new mobile phone contract - I can get one through Phones4U which gives me 400 cross-network minutes and 3000 (Good grief!) texts for £30 per month - saving me £3 approx - but it comes with a free Ipod Touchwhich I have been lusting over for ages. What to do?! My Ipod works ok, but does crash a lot...excuses?!
Gemmzie - I have done a spending diary for the last few weeks, and have been amazed at some of the cr*p I spend my money on, most noticeably teas at work. I have now bought a flask and hope to reduce the amount I am spending - it must have been about £15 a week at one point!
I have fallen off the spending diary wagon recently but when I get paid on the 19th I will use this little diary as my spending diary so you can see what I fritter on in all its glory!0 -
hiya (have no idea how to get funky smilies *insert waving smily here* )
i think a spending diary is defo the way to go, misplacing over £200 a month is crazy!!!! find that and your barclaycard is paid in 5 months!!!!!!!0
