At least if I poo in the water it will float away gently - if I poo whilst kneeling on all fours then I will indeed have lost every scrap of dignity that I never had :rotfl:
:rotfl: well I hold comfort in the fact that about 30 mins after my waters went I got d&v so I doubt I could of pooped when I got to hosp!:p I was starving after the birth tho! i love that we are so British that after the birth I was offered tea and toast:D
The toast was carp but I ate it like a ravenous dog

That's assuming you have solid poo - your body is quite good at clearing out and just having semi liquid stuff to push out along with the baby :o Not nice!!

I've had tea and toast (with some sort of red jam) all 3x. The first time they even made some for hubby too :D And it's always 'plastic' sliced white bread which I wouldn't normally touch!

The midwife told me they keep a sieve (sp?) next to our birth pool to catch such sharks :rotfl: .

They had one on that birth programme Dawn Porter did for BBC3!
Its my last day in work tomorrow - i'm soooooo excited! No more work til end of November.:j :j :j

    Hurrah! Anything special planned?

I was told yesterday they want a two week handover for my role. I said it would probably take three days to handover to someone brand new so what was I to do with the other seven days.. Was told to take a book in or roam around site visiting people, just be on hand to answer queries from the temp if I was needed! :D
  • I haven't experienced a 'normal' labour/birth :o so I'm sure my hospital has an eating policy too but I did eat like a piggy for the 12 hours I was confined before labour! :D. And I was flat on my back the whole time with both!.

Thats a bit carp!! I've had one VBAC since c/s in 1997 - and although m/w had to phone the hospital to check they said i was allowed to use the midwife unit.

Are your unit and delivery suite close together? Ours are in the same building so i suppose if there were any problems, it would be a case of wheeling me down a corridor.

Yep - same building, different floors. Very carp, imo.
They also would prefer I was flat on my back and constantly attached to a monitor :(

Out for an extended lunch i think - and probably be made a show of in the office with flower etc! I'll probably cry with my stupid hormones!

I work in a huge building, and only changed teams/rooms in October. My old team assumed I was leaving at christmas, so i've already had one lot of flowers/vouchers/card!!

Just passing through and havent had a chance to catch up really. Hope mums(and dads) and bumps are doing well.

I suffered a mishap at work today. I was standing next to the photocopier straightening a pile of documents ready to copy and as I leant over when my bump pressed the start button and it began copying causing a jam in the copier which took ages to sort out!! Now if I train it properly perhaps I can use it as an extra hand!

I also noticed that it was basically hanging in the sink when I did the washing up tonight......gosh, dont I sound attractive!!!

Just noticed we are back to the name thing again. I mentioned at work that I like the name Joshua and someone remarked that all the Joshuas they have ever known are gay. Why cant people keep silly comments to themselves!!
