Hi all... uhmmm can anyone who's had pre-eclampsia give me a bit of advice?
I've had a heck of a stressful week workwise and so on and last couple of weeks had headaches but nothing severe that wouldn't go away that day with some paracetamol... but about 10 mins ago I was on a call with a customer and suddenly my vision in one eye kinda went... when I say went I mean the whole vision in that eye was like one of them flashing lights you get when you have looked straight at a bright bulb... took a good 5 mins to gradually fade away and was really really scary!!!
I called the surgery and asked for a call back from a doc or a nurse and they will apparently call me in the hour... but it really shook me up!
IF it is pre-eclampsia how fast is it likely to progress? I knwo this is a stupid thing to worry about but I have to drive to Exeter tomorrow for a meeting and it's a 360 mile round trip in a day and there is NO-ONE else that can do it - boss is signed off sick, the other person doing the same job as me is off on leave (although he wouldn't have the account knowledge) and basically it's the biggest client we have and I HAVE to be there...
Of course if Roo is in ANY danger work can flip off - but am I over reacting???DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

OH is desperate to feel and even I can't feel it from the outside yet so I'm wondering how long he's got to wait!
OH first felt the baby just after Christmas, so I think I'd have been 23 weeks. I'd felt it from the outside for a few weeks before that.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Stargirl - if he is patient enought then he could probably feel from the outside soon enough...if not big kicks then certainly squirming and moving.
We have recently discovered that sometimes you can feel movements from the outside that I can't necessarily feel from the inside IYSWIM.
Be prepared for baby to stop as soon as hubby puts his hands anywhere near you, they seem to know...I use the 'oh darling, you are a natural at calming this baby down, he really seems to like you holding him' lineto make sure dad doesn't feel a bit miffed!!

I wouldn't. Once you start getting the visual voodoo the swelling will start and then they admit you. It was a shopping trip in Glasgow that started my swelling with DS1 and I was admitted a few days later.
Really you need to call your maternity hospital and go get your BP and urine checked tonight. Do you feel kind of... floaty? Walking about in a dream kinda feeling?
After the day I have had I would really say to you don't mess with pre ecclampsia it is serious. IM me if you want to talk.
On that note, my meeting with my Consultant didn't go very well and needless to say, I have made a horrible decision and am leaving you all. Wishing you all luck and health in your pregnancies, take care of them bumps and babes.0 -
