caz, being a first timer all this is new to me, but i would say if you aren't happy and/or confused (like you say you are), i would get a second opinon or see your GP.

it will only make you worse surely if you aren't content with the advice given and that can't be good for you or bubs.

I agree about the cats thing.. i always loved my cats dearly and could never even consider booting them out the house. We once had neighbours that made their cats and dogs sleep and live outside, it was really disturbing. I think it's fine to keep them out of baby's room, but the poor things still need a comfy home!!

Just in case anyone thinks I'm cruel, our dogs (well my parents' dogs) live in a custom made "shed" that is insulated has a little double glazed window and a rubber flap thing to keep out the wind :D (It's really warm in there in winter and don't forget dogs are animals that are meant to live outdoors)

Anyone watch the documentary on Kizzy last night on BBC3?
I'd forgotten the birth details from the original doc (this one was a follow up, its a bout a girl who got preg at 14) she was in labour for 20hrs and in the end they "intervened" hey did say if it was ventouse etc but they did say she had to be cut 3 times and required 80 stitches  they didn't say the weight of baby but mum was tiny and the baby looked HUGE
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Yep, this baby is definitely going to be a stubborn so-and-so, just like DH. (Of course I'm not stubborn at all, I'm lovely ;) ) Apparently my body is all ready to go, it is just waiting for the baby to say it is ready, so I will be really easy to induce if it comes to it, so that is one good thing at least - MW thinks they will just break my waters and that will do the trick.

Never mind... will get there in the end :)

Caz, at least if this one comes early they will have birthdays close enough to have joint birthday parties - that will save you a few bob :) Me and my brother used to always have joint ones when we were little, as we are only 8 days apart (and 3 years too, obviously!). Mind you we are both in the summer, so we could have a party in the garden and have 10 friends each without it being a problem ;) I vaguely remember a giant climbing frame made of ladders, work benches and bits of rope. And obstacle races involving wearing my dad's massive wellies and running down the garden - I bet all the other parents would be frowning and crying "health and safety" if we tried something like that now ;)
me and my sis used to have joint partys, her bday is 7th August and mine is 9th August.

I'd phone the hosp for a second opinion, if nothing to put your mind at rest x

  • Sami - don't say things like 80 stitches, that's terrifying !!!

I've not managed to have a nap yesterday or today for some reason (it's really odd, as napping has never been a problem, so long as I'm nackered enough, even when I'm not pregnant) I guess I'm not as tired as I feel like I am. I'm resorting to coffee instead, and then I have decided I am going to put on my shoes and run (well... limp anyway) up to the 7th floor, down to the ground floor and back up to 3rd where I live. And depending on how I feel I may repeat a few times. If that doesn't work nothing will. MIL and SIL are going on holiday tomorrow, and we me and baby will be in trouble if there is no action before then ;) Lets see who is more stubborn, me or this baby!

Caz - I'd be looking for someone to give me a second opinion too. Could you phone the clinic and ask for another apt and if that doesn't work call the hospital?
