Mind you, my colleagues, boss and bosses boss suddenly realised about a week before I went that I was going, and wouldn't be able to do things for them anymore, so maybe it's normal. I had a big pile of things I said I would do "if I have time", some of which handed some back/onwards. Seeing as I'd told them at 14 weeks I was a bit annoyed that it came as such a shock to everyone
i am just a control freak so am struggling at the minute
starting to feel that there is too much that is now out of control. i am SOOOOOO worried about going off on maternity leave, all i have ever done is work (i know i will have a baby to look after and that will be harder than the work i do now).
there are just too many things in my life changing that i do not have control over
feeling very redundant0 -

I kinda kno what u mean about work, on my last day before Mat leave I stayed until 7pm so I didn't leave anything half done and I hated going back to show off Chris and realising that they could get on fine without me0 -

I wasn't going to tell any family as my mum is ill one sil has just had a baby and has been rushed back into hospital with an infection as she had a 3rd degree tear and the other one is 4 months pg and having problems also so i didn't want to add to the worry but my mum noticed i kept going to the loo and asked me if i was ok i ended up telling her and while it was a relief it is also a burden as she said she is going to ring me straight after scan tomorrow. She is now worried and i may be too upset to talk to her tomorrow.0 -

Sorry you're still having probs with bleeding girls. I've been there and know how scary it is. I believe about 30% of women bleed during early PG and things are often fine. Our beans sure like to worry us eh! I'd just add though, that at 6 weeks you shouldn't pass any clots the size of a golf ball no matter what happens  so if the worry is just too much i'd go to A&E or the EPU. They should be able to confirm if your cervix is shut and if the heart beat is ok. (((hugs))) to you both
i wasnt trying to scare anyone though, sorry0 -
Caz I can't think of anything useful to say but try to look after yourself.
I'm thinking it may be a good thing to try to tell kids that mummy and daddy are upset about grown up things or something coz the older ones will be picking up that something is wrong
Big hugs and lots of love xx0 -
Caz - can't imagine how tough things must be for you at the moment. You are one strong lady. I have a pack of flaming hot monster munch...do you fancy them?
AF - at some point you will need to give in. Keep going into work at 7.30am and you will be taking maternity leave sooner than you think. I finish 2 weeks before you and I am just starting to say to people that I will not be able to take on any actions that I won't be able to see through. I had a meeting this afternoon and for the first time in over 6 years I walked away with only 2 actions (although 1 was to make 10 phone calls!!)
I think we all secretly hope that our workplaces will fall apart without us but the truth is they won't - although with a bit of luck it might make some people appreciate us more.
(((HUGS))) to all.

It is a bit easy to overdo work prior to maternity leave - I was pushing myself much too hard as I didn't want to let down work, even though I was on reduced hours due to SPD. My physio and midwife finally told me either I got signed off work or they'd insist I was put on complete bedrest. Of course, they made sure this was said in front of DH. He was a bit annoyed and insisted I let them sign me off work.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Hi everyone! Its going to take me an age to catch up with you all. Sorry you are bleeding elasti and bumblebee. I too have some but I am still throwing up and my scan was fine so I am very hopeful. I hope both you guys will be fine. Caz - I havent read your post but you are clearly upset from what I can glean. I hope it all works out for the best I really do XX
I have had my 12 week scan date through the post today which is for the 11th Feburary. I am so excited!!! Also amazed as I havent even had my booking in appointment yet - that't not till 20th!
Just a quick question for those expecting number 2 or more. My little one was 1 last week and we were looking at him spread out in the cot and there is less than 6 inches left in it space wise after he has laid the length. This sealed the deal for us and we are going to buy him a bed when little one comes in August and put the new baby in his cot. I have been looking at duvets (as he is waking a lot at the mo and is cold) does anyone know how many blankets a 4 tog equates to?? He currently has a sheet and 3 cellular blankets.0
