Nice pic feely - I've been getting vague pains in the symphysis pubis joint - nothing excrutiating but feels a little like it's grinding... I hope I'm imagining that!!! If it's started at 21 weeks that doesn't bode well!
My worst pain however is in my left hip which is the one I injured years ago (ah those drunken nights out with the lads... ) but it feels more towards the main joint that the sacroliac (does anyone else think that sound like a root vegetable???) if that makes sense? Going to try and see if I can get a docs appointment towards the end of the week as I'm off thursday afternoon and friday...

Mel - instead of relying on iron tablets try eating lots of lentils and lentil soups - red lentil soup with carrot and tomato's is dead easy and very high in iron - my vegetarian friend eats loads and her iron levels were sky high when she had her DD 7 years ago - higher than most the other people in her NCT class whom were all meat eaters :)

Oh and I forgot to say (blooming pregnant brain!) that I SAW Bean move tonight!!! I was laid in my bath just relaxing and she started kicking and I just kinda thought "that was so hard I should be able to see that" so I sat and watched and sure enough I saw the little dink next time she kicked! It was SOOOOOO cool! She wouldn't do it again though stubborn little mule ;) And no amount of prodding her was convincing her to shuffle round again... little moo :)

Tine, I think you've done well to get this far before hip jip :)
mine started about 14 weeks, same last time although its never needed more than the odd paracetamol for the pain, usually did with out.
Ps the root veg sounding thing is from where pelvis meets the sacrum bit of spine, can you tell I did PE theory :D

  • Morning all :D

Well we had the offical scan yesterday and everything looks fine - It was great to see bump and see that everything was OK. We got some amazing pics as well. DH got a bit choked up and said "oh **** it's real isn't it!" LOL

I'm officially 12+6 today and I'm going to tell work this morning, a bit worried on how they're going to react as I've only been here 10 weeks and the major project they brought me in for is due in August - September which is when I'll be on Mat leave

Hopefully they'll be OK - Once they know I'll tell friends I don't see that often and then I can post a piccie on facebook and come and join you ladies :T

So question of the morning, how do I add myself to the list? My EDD is 16th July.

Feelie, I watched a programme last night about britains biggest babies, and being fat doesnt automatically mean you will have a big baby.
I feel mahoosive too, i cant bend over, had to even get OH to undo me boots yesterday, i'm surprised he did it tbh!

Oh an yesterday i was laying on the sofa, resting the remote on me belly and when baby kicked it made it move, reminded me of the maltesers advert, anyone remember that?

r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this response :p
  • Morning all. I saw that "Britain biggest babies" thing was on last night, but I decided it would only scare me

No good night sleep here - DH has come down with a cold, so it was like having a trombone or something snoring away in my ear. I think I managed about 4 hours sleep, so now he's gone to work, and I've had some breakfast it's back to bed for me! I've got lots of things to do, but they can wait until I'm awake enough to do them.

Ok, this might be seriously TMI, but anyone else on here have problems with cystocele or uterine prolapse? I have had problems with this since DS was born, and I would just like reassurance that it isn't going to cause problems with the pregnancy. GP and midwife were very "oh no big deal" about it, but I swear (this is the TMI bit - you've been warned!!) I feel like everything is practically down to my knees, if you know what I mean! It's worse when constipated as well (so trying very hard to avoid that!). I've read that further along in the pregnancy it's not so much an issue, because the size of the baby keeps everything up off the pelvic floor. And what about vaginal delivery? I swear I told DH last night I was worried when I pushed the baby out, my bladder and half my innards would probably come with it!

Hi Triggles - can't remember how pg you are - sorry! I do remember that you're in Gloucester, like me, though!

Anyway, I am 21 weeks with no 4 and have had a stage 2 uterine prolapse, ssevere cystocele & moderate rectocele since the birth of no 2 in 2000. I also have had a retroverted uterus since no 3. I was v worried when pg with no 3 about what effect it might have on pg/ delivery. However, I gave birth vaginally with no 3 (and plan on doing so with no 4). I'd say the uterine prolapse has worsened - lots at first, but then it did come back up a bit :o I was offered a hysterectomy, which I thought was a bit extreme! I want repair surgery, rather than removal.

It took until about week 18/19 for the uterine prolapse to not be visible any more - although it is still lower than a 'normal' womb at this stage - about 1/2 finger length in (tmi!!) Babe is also breech at the mo, and has its feet dangling down, so all my kicks are very low in my pelvis - which is quite a strange sensation.

It shouldn't make a diff to preg/ delivery - although it may get worse afterwards. I don't take iron tablets because of it - my rectocele just wouldn't cope with the added pressure of constipation (add to that the fact I always get piles when pregnant!:o ) I stopped drinking tea and drank masses of OJ instead and upped red meat slightly (can't eat too much beef as it has the opposite effect of constipation!) - and seem to be ok now. My GPs won;t prescribe me something like spatone for iron - they'll give me iron tablets and then lactulose for the constipation - I'd rather take one thing than 2!

    Am waffling now - sorry!
