OK so the month has not started great for the BT's. The tube was not running and after waiting 20 minutes for a bus I had to get a taxi to work. (I saw 4 of the same bus, in both directions qued up at the next big interchange type place, not sure what was going on there). So that was yesterday.
Today I got up (despite working last night) for double lectures, hauled myself into uni to find that those slackers had called a snow day! (Actually I quite like the snow day) in fairness I ended up walking home as the tube was severely delayed anyway. However I did end up buying a dinner at uni after spending a bit of time in the library.
tomorrow is a new day but I may need to buy food.
NSD target for this month I am going to slack and call 10.Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
Just checked the online banking £100 overpayment has been applied, thats coming off the total debt, should be another £100 wednesday as well!
I am a little stuck for working out the exact amounts as my spreadsheet isn't exactly accessible just at the moment. I had to completely wipe my computer and do a system restart thing which has taken office off my computer, so no excel. I am going to get the new student version but until then I don't have it lol, so I am going to have to try to best guess it lol.Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
Hey you
Wasn't it horrible yesterday? i got stranded in London for 3 hours while the sorted the trains out! and people that live 10 mins down the road didn't even try to come in. I wont even get paid for yesterday either :-( 6 hours of effort to get in
I'm going to aim for 12 NSD again this month.
Ooh and good news - well maybe not for you! ah-ha! PPI for capital one paid out £220 :-) i'm going to tell them to credit it on the credit card account i've nearly hit the £2k mark for 2 months - need to get cracking if i'm going to do 20k in a year!TOTAL: (1.9.2008) £[strike]20,971.00[/strike] (02.12.10)£11,006.07£9,262.93 Paid off (Since LBM)Debt Free Date [strike]2021[/strike] 2015Savings £100 Dec NSD 11/20, Sealed pot challenger 1043:xmassign:0 -
I dont think I had it too bad to be honest, my lift home on Sunday night/monday morning when the heavy snow first settled was a little funky and we were lucky to not run into the back of someone but we get there. I actually feel quite lucky to have had the time to catch up on some of the lectures which I hadn't gone over, plus the snow was really pretty! All the kids on the estate loved it lol.
Might have been nicer if the boiler was producing hot water but at least we had heating.
I haven't paid rent and I am in no hurry to do so with the current state of the place.
my oyster runs out tomorrow and we have gp placement on thursday, but i am thinking that I will try to reduce the amount I rely on public transport, and put off buying a new zone pass just yet.
Well done on your ppi claim, I have been applying for research trials and looks like I may have a good one come in, I have to check it over but it looks promising!
I am booked to see the uni financial adviser type person on Tuesday next week for a review, I was hoping to apply for the ALF but as I earn so much and because I worked so much before going to uni I am apparently unlikely to be successful. Still I will see what she has to suggest and go from there. I want to clear at least another £1000 before my exams, because I want to be able to not work then. I have budgeted to allow for this but it would be easier if I clear this £1000. At least all my APR's are fixed now until August so no nasty suprises in the short term, and the BT deal that ends in August will be cleared by then.
I was reconsidering selling my car but I do need it for when I go see dd as she lives in a rural area and we need to get about. Before I had the car I would hire one each time, which didn't work out too bad, but when it gets to summer again and her mum wants me to have her more I do need it. My sister and brother in law have been borrowing it just before christmas as his shift patterns were not suitable with my sisters work needs and school run needs. I feel better knowing that it is used. For the small amount I would get for my car now anyway it would not come close to repaying the car loan.
I am looking at retraining and starting a new job. It would be similar hours, similar money but more relevant to my course. Also there is the possibility of more day time work, and I think I would enjoy it more. I have to send a CV in (really wish I had word right now) but it could be good.Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
That second £100 is off the credit card. I will update my sig when I get chance, thinking I will nip into uni tomorrow to use the office programmes there. I am currently downloading open office to try to fill the void but want to email my CV, not sure that having it on anything other than word will look right!
I did a 192.com search of one of my debtors, and he is still on the ellectoral roll at the house where he was when he started to ignor me and the money he owes me. I think that may be worth chasing up.Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
Whoa that was quick and this is briliant, it opened up the MS stuff no problem and I now have the opportunity to update my sig.

Well it's a slow DFW week again, no NSDs and work have robbed me of 1/2 an hour which I will take up with them later. We had a scrappy night last night at the venue and I have a secondary chest infection to my cold. I am getting a cold approximately once every month, which I put down to not eating properly due to the house as it is hard to make a proper dinner (and I can cook) when you have to buy in drinkng water, the oven doesn't work and you feel as though you are in the way when sharing a very small kitchen with 4 other adults.
I have to move into halls in the next week or so which I have to be honest, I am not looking forward to. It's going to be slightly more expensive on the actual rent front and I have to pay extra for the laudnrey service but I have been having to pay out extra for drinking water and laundrette here for a while anyway.
The temperature is going to plumet again tonight which is going to really hurt my chest and I really don't have the patience for the endless stream of really offensively stupid people I will have to talk to tonight.
On the plus side, I got paid and those 4 nights have added up to a decent packet even if they did steal 1/2 hour. (I will take that up with them later)
In addition to that, there was an email sent around all the students about an award we could apply to of £1000 a year. I don't think i will get it, having talked to a student financial adviser type, I cannot gain any help from the ALF because I already earned too much as I worked full time before uni and I work to much now (and thats without knowing my hourly rate!) so I think that they will look at it and say that actually I am alright and I should carry on, however my argument is going to be that if they give me the award I can reduce the number of hours I work a week. £1000 extra a year will actually make a big difference I worked out. My biggest concern is that something should happen and I cannot work in which case I am stuffed. I have to work so much now because I wont be able to work in the 3rd, 4th and 5th year. If I have that little extra it would mean I could cover the payments in the later years so I do not have to clear as much now and I can regain some balance. I know it's not very DFW or MSE to take the longer road when you can physically take the shorter route, paying less in interest etc but I felt so much more alert when I was off with the tooth ache despite having toothache! I honestly believe that I would do more work and get better grades rather than scraping through. My tutor has said that she doesn't think that I will get this either as there are probably students in a worse situation to me. That said if there had been a lot of applicants then they wouldn't have sent the email around and extended the deadline to Monday. Plus as the time inbetween them sending the email and extending the deadline is only a matter of a few days I wonder how many will go for it, so I will try and hope for the best. I just have to work out what to put in my statement and get copies of bank statements etc.
Quite a long post to say I haven't got much further forward, but then I am not much further back either so it's not all bad!Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
Good that you are staying positive - its worth trying for the grant - whats the worst that can happen? they say no - if you don't ask you dont getTOTAL: (1.9.2008) £[strike]20,971.00[/strike] (02.12.10)£11,006.07£9,262.93 Paid off (Since LBM)Debt Free Date [strike]2021[/strike] 2015Savings £100 Dec NSD 11/20, Sealed pot challenger 1043:xmassign:0

What a weekend! Glad it's over and done, and I am feeling much better again today. All the award application has been completed, and they have said that they will accept the reference from my tutor at her convenience. I just have to drop it in now!
Having spoken to them there does sound to have been a few people who have applied for this, but I am hopeful that some of them will be redirected to the ALF which I was told I would not receive funding from.
If I do not get this award it's really not the end of the world, but it would be nice to not work quite so much! If I do then awesome!Debt £5600 all 0%0
