Well all in all it cost me £200 to get moved including a couple of taxi runs and £150 deposit.
I have enough money in the bank to cover rent till June so life is good.
I don't have quite enough to beat DTDT just yet but soon I will ha ha haDebt £5600 all 0%0 -
Since the NSDs are out the window, and I am now living in halls, I cannot do many of the regular MSE things to keep food costs down such as batch cooking etc, so I have a new plan to keep on top of this. I'm going to allow myself £5 a day for food in March. Going to get the cheap food at the right time at the supermarket is one plan, shared purchases if I find someone with similar tastes is another. Milk I get relatively cheap as I drink UHT and I have sneaked a small fridge into my room so only I am using it. There is a market nearby as well so hopefully if I can get there at the right time and buy foods that I can store in my room I should be alright. Any money I have left at the end of the day can get carried over to the next day and any money at the end of the month can go towards my 'holiday' savings pot for when I stop working for my exams. (I am classed as self employed so I have to put cash asife for holidays).
The only exception to the £5 food days will be my trips out with DD, when part of the treat is to eat out, and then it depends entirely on what she fancies on the day!Debt £5600 all 0%0 -

What a crapper! What are your plans now?
The new gaff stinks of TCP (I'm not sure why) it's tiny, I refuse to use that kitchen and I seriously hate being on a single bed. Appart from that it's cool, I can literally get up 10 mins before a lecture and still make it in time!Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
I would feel bad posting this but my minimum payments have come out and my debt is down some, and I made a big payment today on my CC, however since I am still trailing I don't feel too bad, plus I know full well that I can only make over payments for about the next month then I have to stop and study! I will update again when the payments have gone off.Debt £5600 all 0%0

Sorry to rub it in, but that overpayment is showing and I am now officially winning. I am really pleased with myself, not far off the £16,000 mark and nearly £2500 paid off since the LBM. I actually have a little more to go off there as well. Credit cards will be gone by September!Debt £5600 all 0%0

I think I may have joined DTDT in the oops I lost my job club, although for me it was kinda my fault. The partner of the owner of the venue I normally work fell out with me last night, and when she falls out with people they often end up not working there any more. On the plus side I am classed as self employed and this is a good time of year if I was looking to get more security work. Plus if I have lost the venue then actually I may wait until after my exams to look for more work, I could do festivals over the summer again and get a job in September. It's sounding ever more appealing.
Also on the plus side I worked loads last week so I expecting a great pay packet next friday, I haven't spent much from last weeks so if I am careful I can probably strectch it to last out for the next month or so (about 6 weeks) till I get my student loan. It does mean I may not be making as many debt repayments as I had originally planned, however it would be really nice to sleep weekends!
I'm an enterprising girl, I can find more (legal) ways to bring in some cash, I just volunteered for a trial where I eat muffins. Life is good. As for the job, ah well either way I'm a winner!Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
I still have my job, although I was getting used to the idea of having time and sleep lol. I don't know how long it will last for so I am going to be a bit cautious about how much I pay off the debt, but I only have to make wages stretch till the end of April anyway. I do think that I will lose the venue in the not too distant future, but I had planned on cutting right back in a couple of weeks anyway (and budgeted for this) and I have a lot of other options open to me that I have been looking into this week.
I got another in course assessment mark back today which I had been worried about and I did better than I thought, still passing everything! I just have to make sure I have everything learned by May and I am laughing (albeit hysterically at the moment!)Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
Hey how you doing? thanks for suggesting your place but its a bit of a trek for me. i've managed to get 2 shifts a week at the bar and they stuck me in the rest. as much as I hate it its earning me £20 tips and i've started temping locally for a hospital £8 an hour less than i'm use too *EEK* but i'm making ends meet at the moment, i might try selling stuff, and i'm hoping once I have experience i have more of a chance of gtting a perminant job there for better money - fingers crossed :-)
How you liking Halls better? I was thinking about you batchin cooking - could you not buy yourslef a little freezer for your room?TOTAL: (1.9.2008) £[strike]20,971.00[/strike] (02.12.10)£11,006.07£9,262.93 Paid off (Since LBM)Debt Free Date [strike]2021[/strike] 2015Savings £100 Dec NSD 11/20, Sealed pot challenger 1043:xmassign:0 -
I already have a little fridge, (and between ourselves, a toaster, steamer, george foreman grill and kettle)so I think buying a little freezer as well would really be pushing my luck lol.
I see you have regained the lead! Ah well I will be sub £16,000 this week so I am happy. The race is so back on now you are back in work!Debt £5600 all 0%0
