Me again, just catching up on this thread.sue1976
I received my next statement this morning to find that I am being charged for 2 items that I have never received - a coat for £40 and a pair of trousers for £15. I spoke to Customer Services who told me they would contact the courier and then send a letter out to us for us to sign. At the moment they haven't haven't taken these items off the total until I have signed this letter. I am certainly not paying £55 for items I never received.
I have to say, times are changing, credit crunch and new companies = new unknown customers, things are going missing. I don't leave anything, anywhere, anymore.
I'm not suggesting this is your case sue1976.0 -
I cant believe some of the places i've had parcels left by couriers (not just next)
beside my front door, only partially hidden behind a bush
on my backdoor step, short stroll from a waist high unsecure garden gate
in my wheely bins
have had a few go missing over the years.. I always state not to leave if it gives the option for that on order form and ask couriers to do the same.. still happens tho.. this week got a boots cardboard box at the back door, thank god it wasnt raining!0 -

There shouldn't be a problem, customer places an order some companies tell them day for delivery(Next do)customer in and courier delivers,.
Plan B customer doesn't know delivery day, courier leaves a card suggesting next working day for delivery, customer will be in so both happy, all organised.
Plan C customer phones or texts to say won't be in on that day but will be in on xxx day, every ones happy.
I can honestly say I've never ordered anything (even before I was a courier)without a plan to receive the item. Mums address, work address, friends address, corner shop agreed, an arranged secure place with postie or courier or god forbid someone home.
I'm still shocked by customers who phone and say I work all day, out at 7am and not in till 6.30pm.

tbf next are usually great, you can get a good idea of when to expect your parcel, and will leave with the neighbours if I miss them (cant hear front door bell if out the back).. its boots and littlewoods that leave em anywhere0

Happyshopper do you have any proof that the delivery person(courier)has forged your signature, if not it's completely out of order to suggest that possibility.
Next like many other large companies can't cope when they promote sales. I'm a courier in the South West, I've had lots of parcels for addresses in Yorkshire, can only send them back but there's no way it takes more than a few days to go onto the system.
Yes i have a copy of the signature for that delievery and its not me who signed for it as i was out of the country , no none of my neighbours took the parcel in , so yes i have proof and no i would not have posted , if i didnt have proof !!!0 -

Unfortunantely some of us do have to work full time, and with less spare time to go to the shops rely all the more on home delivery, Ive never had any problems getting my orders, couriers either come in the evening or leave with a neighbour or in safe place.0 -
I am usually at work when my courier is doing his deliveries however I happen to pass his house at least 3 times a week so now he texts me when I have a delivery and I pick it up myself. I would rather do that than have my parcels 'left in a safe place'0

That's awful if you've stated don't leave/no secure place to leave. Next often dictate places to leave items that I'm not happy about, customers also ask for silly places under car, under right hand bush to name a few.

I leave my home at 7.45am and dont return from work until 5.30 - 5.45pm this is because I work fulltime and have to drop my child at childcare prior to this
I normally get delivery to store to stop any of the above mentioned happening, except when I ordered from the sale I didnt have the option of store delivery
I wasnt given an exact day for delivery as I could arrange to be home within certain time frames, the courier left a note as I requested but with no name, no number or any contact details. The courier was due the next day not am or pm and it was too late for me to organise a day off work, I called Next CS to let them contact the courier to inform I wasnt going to be there but they said there was nothing they could do and if the parcel wasnt delivered it would be returned
I just cancelled my whole order, approx £600 worth of stuff I had every intention of keeping, imagine all it took was the courier to provide at least a contact number and I would have made arrangements suitable for them
