i think it'd reduce at the till, but its a risk when q'in!

They had been repriced with new stickers on the actual boxes, the shelf price was removed though. Still expensive though wouldn't you agree.

Even if it was £41.99 after discount as someone else stated this is still double what other retailers charge.
You can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.

Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

    FEB challenge £128/£270 balance £142

  • I got 3 blu-ray titles for just over £20 this morning, Reservoir Dogs (beautiful tin case), Journey To The Centre of The Earth (new version ... in 3D too ... might be dire, I dunno) and The X Files (I Want To Believe).

It was so sad. The store was stripped bare & workies were in dismantling all the shelves. The poor staff, I can't imagine how they're feeling. The girl who served me wished me a Merry Christmas, I felt terrible.
  • Went into Shipley store this morning, still had quite a lot left but I didn't have time to look properly. I did notice they've got loads of girls jeans for £1 a pair and think they had boys too. Just stocking the shelves with Christmas cards at 70% off.
  • our store is closing on the 5th but looks nearly empty!!!!
    THANK MEEE:j

Yesterday I picked up a couple of spindles of Sony blank dvdrs 25 pack, I asked at the till how much they were I was told 5.99 each after 40% discount. Woolworths "worth it" Dvdrs were still nearly 12.00 a hundred. ( can get 100 TDK on Play.com for 12.99) I couldnt stop myself mentioning to the assistant that the problem is that a lot of items sold by Woolies wasnt "worth it" and still isnt "worth it".
  • Here's a good example:

The game 'Bully' on the Wii costs £29.99 in Woolworths. It costs £9.99 on play.com. Even with 50% off i wouldn't bother.

I've felt that Woolies has been run into the ground over the last few years.
  • I got a Disney Princess Toddler Bed this morning.
    Cost just over £30 :j

Also the kids clothes and school, some are down to 25p an item.

So still some good stuff in :)

I got a cross cut shredder for £8..

Talking to the girl who served me and she said getting the sack was the best thing to happen to her.
She hated working there and it will give her the incentive to get (as she put it) a proper job.
So not all staff members are distraught.

I second that, the 'good' staff will find another job fast but unfortunately they were a minority, the rest of the grumpy, inefficient, push you out the way to restock the shelves/make you wait at the checkout while they discussed non work matters (and this was eons before they went into administration) staff should be sent on an intensive customer services course before they're let loose on the public again.
