My DD was born 2006, close to Christmas and I was so out of it that I never thought to buy her any special decorations etc - so I would be quite pleased to find an out of date one in my local Woolies :D

Poundland had Bratz annuals for £1.00 yesterday. Can't be sure but I think they were 2009?

I found a cordless screwdriver for £2.10 in Basildon and a travel hairdryer for £2.50, but there wasn't that much left otherwise.
There is, if anyone is interested, a downloadable PDF of store closing dates on the BBC website.
    Au Res.,

Bratz annuals in Poundland are 2009, they also had Fi-fi and the flowertots, My Little Pony and a couple of others.

Just bumping for the evening as per my previous post (can't vouch for the accuracy, it is the BBC after all!):

When which stores are closing: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/211208_woolworthclosure.pdf

Our local store were selling their actual equipment and supplies such as the shelves to put items on, as well as their office chairs and desks that they most likely used behind the store.

I picked up a DVD Lens Cleaner for £2.69. It's not bad, the menus are a bit odd. The store still had the posters hidden in the corner.

  • I wandered into the East Molesey (small branch in Surrey) yesterday at 10:00.
    Due to shut 31/12.
Overheard the male manager and the female supervisor discussing the day's campaign. They were still working as professional retailers; talking of figures and margins and were pleased that they had achieved some sort of target that meant they were not facing a premature chop. I wish them good luck in their future careers - I'd put them on the short list were I a potential employer.
"The store room is empty now"
but the shelves in the shop were still well stocked.

All I bought was a one trip camera for 1.50 (since Mrs P got in a tangle with another car, whose driver gave a false address).
There were two assistants manning the tills and the one serving me seemed friendly and chatty. However I tried to be a bit light hearted and suggested a BOGOFF day on Xmas eve and got a "if looks could kill" reaction from her colleague.
I guess the staff must feel very stressed.
