My mum went to the Grantham store today and got some school summer dresses for £2.55, she said there were loads of childrens clothes left but not much else.

So are ours. I had a wander round today with OH and he commented that its like Poundland but more expensive. He has a point there and thats probably why they are closing

Toaster bags were reduced to £3.99 and in Poundland they are £1 (obvously ;) )
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155
  • one pound eh, you sure?

They are definately there and definately £1 as I got a Bratz one for my daughter and I also got a Indianna Jones one for my son!!! :j

I got a lunar Jim one for my son's birthday in poundland, (for a quid :o) ) but noticed whilst reading it, that it has a number of typos. (hear instead of here, or the odd letter missing)

Guess I am a bit fussy though and isn't worth shelling the extra fiver for one with correct spellings!
  • Yesterday I picked up a couple of spindles of Sony blank dvdrs 25 pack, I asked at the till how much they were I was told 5.99 each after 40% discount. Woolworths "worth it" Dvdrs were still nearly 12.00 a hundred. ( can get 100 TDK on Play.com for 12.99) I couldnt stop myself mentioning to the assistant that the problem is that a lot of items sold by Woolies wasnt "worth it" and still isnt "worth it".

I was going to purchace bank woolies woth it cd-r's & dvd-r's but unfortunately i couldn't work out what the discount would be as the staff had removed the original pricing from all the stock, with only a 40% off notice left.

How are you meant to know what 40% off is if there is no original price:confused:

The queue was right back the shop so i just left them. It seems like some people are just buying items as there in a sale, its not something that they would normally buy.

I then joined the long queue with my pic 'n' mix and some chocolate bars, but 20 minutes later I had hardly moved in the queue and realised I was going to be late for an appointment if I left it much longer. I went back to the pic 'n' mix and saw the security guard who was there before, and I explained to her that I couldn't wait any longer and that I didn't know what to do with my full bag - and she took me up to the front of the queue and told the assistant that I wasn't feeling well and so could she serve me next so I could get some fresh air!! :o

Merry Christmas to all the staff.

Lucky you, I had to leave the queue after standing in it for 20 mins this morning as my little girl was being sick. I had all my goods on her buggy and ran to door to tell SA so I could leave my bits with her and she said ''No sorry I got stuff to do' So i plonked all the stuff on a unused shelf and when I came back in it was gone!!! God knows where it went but I was feeling a bit annoyed after standing there for so long and it was for a valid reason too!!!!

Popped into the huge shed round the back of the Beckton "Alp" today.

2/3rds of the floor area already partitioned off empty.
Some useful stuff still on sale but being picked over by the vultures.

(3 desk fans but still hundreds of toasters:D)

The manager has put up a big board with prices for the fittings, but the prices are still too high in my opinion - I would take away a clothes rail on wheels for use at a boot sale if it were cheap enough.
