What do you expect them to do. Just call it a day and burn all of the old stock?

The administrators want to generate as much revenue from the old stock as possible.

The doors will then close of the 5th Jan and any remaining stock will get sold on the cheap wholesale.

I think the OP realises that however a Hearsay VHS video is probably only going to achieve 50p at very best.

And that would be the VERY best! :rotfl:

Walk around any bootfair and there are hundreds if not thousands of VHS tapes laying around unsold, last bootfair I did I had trouble selling my videos for 50p and some of them were good movies.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

in the Carmarthen store all the VHS tapes are 50p plus discount and yes hearsay was there too!
  • Forgive me, I must be in the wrong forum.
I came here thinking it was about 'Grabbits'.
    Silly me.
  • I was in my local Woolies today and they were selling a Girl Tech Styling Studio for £64.99.

In Argos this is just over £31 and over at Amazon it is less than £29 with free delivery!

This is the reason Woolworths has gone under and as sad as it is that many people are losing their jobs at this time of year I won't be sad to see it go!!

    There, I've said it!!

If anyone really wants Hearsay on VHS you can get it off Amazon for 1p (OK you may have to pay for postage as well). The one in saw in Woolies looked a bit battered although I think was it was unused (I can't really describe it as new). I suppose the administrators have got to generate the maximum income but some things really do need to go straight into the bin.

All the branches of Woolies will be closed for good in the next couple of weeks so I think this qualifies as a Grabbit. I can't think of too many high street stores still selling VHS cassettes and there may well one or two Hearsay fans still knocking about. OK the likelihood of someone being both a Hearsay fan AND still in possession of VHS player is statistically unlikely but you never know..........

But if it helps they also had an Atkins Diet box set (I think it was a book and a VHS) for £1.00. Even if you can't watch the video you can read the book and I'm sure lots of us will be needing diet books in a couple of weeks time, and some of us could do with having them already. They had quite a few of these if anyone wants one.

  • I think for a little bit more you could probably get the former members around for a personal concert, all apart from the Klass one I guess

My local has obviously had a new delivery as there was lots of some things they didn't have previously, e.g. they have never stocked pushchairs but they had some in today. I overhead the staff saying that another 7 boxes were due to be delivered today, they had no clue what was in them though.

I got a double buggy for £40 so I'm happy :) plus a swimsuit for DD1 reduced to 60p, some rolls of wrapping paper 80p and the obligatory pic&mix.
  • Black Lace agadoo going cheap for 59p ;)
