just been to my local woolies (margate kent) and thats closing in 8 days got some little bits of clothing very cheap that was 60% off.
noticed that wii games were now 20% off
some staff very stressed this lady was buying a pink buggy she was testing it out but couldnt fold it back down so the lady said i cant be doing with this so staff then snatched the buggy back and near enough threw her a different one.
i really feel for the staff and wish all the best for them
there is no need to be rude to customers! one reason they are going bust i expect. i would have threw the pram back at them (literally)Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Cwmbran store in South Wales closes on the 5th Jan :-(
Very good offers on at the moment, I had a Gracco car seat/booster seat for £12! as there is 60% off all prams, etc!
Also childrens books have been reduced again, most old books are just 50p and the musical books from £1! I got a Disney Princess one for 60p!
I do get extra discount (cause im staff!!) but they are really cheap anyway, just gotta look!!
Have fun shopping, im sure there is lots more to come!Freebies - Savvy Shopping Bag, Energy Saving Plug, Hugo Boss SampleWinnings - Dvd The Road sold on Ebay for a tenner:j0 -
As Woolie's time is beginning to draw to a close they seem to be digging more and more odd bits and pieces out from the depths of the storeroom. Some of these surely will never sell no matter how much they reduce them buy.
I've just been into the Caernarfon store and they have on their shelves, wait for it, HEARSAY LIVE on VHS! It's priced at £1.99 so with the current discount expect to pay £1.59. Please form an orderly queue......The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

I think the people dealing with the administration are dragging their feet and someone else is pulling the strings. The excuse given was "we are looking for a buyer" more like if we have a full blown out sale so near to christmas we will pull other shops down with woolies.0

does anyone know about the keighley store please
It's on the list in post no 701 as closing on 27th. I'm not surprised, they don't seem to have much left. They also have the signs up about not tolerating abuse to staff. A lot of their toys seem to be on sale in the new Bargain Madness store (next door to the closed down Focus!).0 -
i went back to my big W today and they had put out some new stock. went looking for a christmas card holder although didnt have any. instead though i got some madagascar teddies for 70p, kandoo wipes for 65p, thomas the tank dough stamper 70p, some night garden pjs which i think were new in as they werent there last week, for £8, peppa pig socks 1.40, fireman sam plip lid cup 35p. they had a lot more stock in although there were certain parts of the shop that had been cleared if that makes sense.
well pleased with my buys! also the woman that served me was so nice and helpful and put through a night garden igglepiggle bag for 50p as it didnt have a ticket. she also said that the store was closing on 5th Jan. :-)0 -

Zavvi near me are dearer than HMV etc, I never shop there and can see them being the next to go. Adams is one of the most expensive children's clothes shops I know unless they have a sale on and often poor quality (Mothercare and Next are much better quality and similar price). I believe Sainsbury's children's clothes are made by the same company as Adams and are a fraction of the price (and nicer designs). Agree with you about Argos though!

i think i remember VHS, wasnt it a plastic thing that went in a machine ?0

i love adams clothes its dead stylish i think
hope they dont go!THANK MEEE:j0 -
What do you expect them to do. Just call it a day and burn all of the old stock?
The administrators want to generate as much revenue from the old stock as possible.
The doors will then close of the 5th Jan and any remaining stock will get sold on the cheap wholesale.0
