At least this thread is a bit nicer than the other woolies one where I commented on the poor staff ! Wouldn't like to be in the staffs' position just before Christmas, let alone any time.

I don't think anyone was horrible? I take offence at your comment. All people were saying this is the grabbit section and yes everyone feels bad for the staff. But your remark "it's not all about getting a bargain".............well, yes it is i.e. moneysavingexpert.com - shopping - grabbit!

No one as far as I could see was mean about the staff losing their jobs!!! Yet again, you have put things into perspective!

    Part of the Furniture
all i want is gaming stuff...
  • Our Woolies now has 50% off all stock posters in the window, they're different to the other 'up to' 50% posters they had so maybe this means there really are discounts to be had. Unless they've just printed the 'up to' even smaller this time
  • Also encourages some people to buy things that they dont really need. ;)

Suppose so like a radio fm bath colour changing duck for instance but a few homewares are on my shopping list which we do need

You take offence at my comment ? Did I say anyone had been horrible - NO. I said the other woolies thread was nicer (before they were merged) as it had other people commenting on the staff situation and sympathising. (now early threads in this one) Don't take my posts out of context,

I am not against the Woolies sale or any other bargain. I am just stating my opinion that I feel sorry for the staff who are losing their jobs which I am entitled to do so as it has direct relation to the reason of the sale.

Home Bargains are already stocking some Woolies stuff.

I think most of the cheap shops will have, its easier for them to grab cheap stock and make money for them selves.
 Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.

Sorry I have noticed a lot of comments about staff, can we please stop doing this now. This post is here for bargins which many of us need right now and a bargin is not a bargin if its ladled with guilt.

It is very upsetting that the staff have uncertain futures, but I am sure that there experience with the company will stand them in good stead with other employiees. Also is other companies take over the old stores then there will be job oppertunities to be had.

You said it's not all about getting a bargain and it seemed to me like you were having a go at those people who were looking for a bargain.....

Again, it is moneysavingexpert.com - shopping - grabbit!!!!! Why would you feel the need to comment on people looking for a bargain  I'm sure there is plently of discussion on the net about Woolies staff losing their jobs, just as thousands of other people who are being made redundant as we speak!

I took offence because you were trying to make others feel bad for getting a bargain, or at least that's how it came across. If I misunderstood then I apologise.
