You CAN have a refund. Your item is faulty, I work for Woolworths and you can have a refund if it is faulty or unfit for purpose which in your case, clearly is. Tell the staff to read the sign!!! Def go to another store, if you came to mine, id give you a refund!!
went back into woolworths and quted there sign today the manager checked the console serial number angainst the box and they are different:eek: and the manager said as the box was sealed when it left they can not refund or replace but..
she did phone sony while i was there and told them the same as i told them and they have told her she has to chase the supliers

Can you just try another shop and say its faulty instead of used . i think thats maybe your only option0

It's probably cheaper for Woolies to sell off the stuff in their shop at 90% than it would be to have them shipped back to the warehouse. I used to work for a publisher and all our returned books would get pulped as it was cheaper to do this than to put them back into our warehouse. So this would mean books that cost £50+ that were sometimes only 6 months old being pulped. It seems crazy but it works out far cheaper.
That's very true. I used to do some Merchandising work & many items (paperback books, greetings card, cosmetics) in the Supermarkets had to be destroyed at the end of a season or promotional period, rather than packaged up and sent back to a warehouse. I could never get over the waste, personally - but 'rulez was rulez'. It was apparently the most cost effective option - even when pretty large quantities were involved.0 -
