Hmm I wonder how many staff will go in Boxing Day if they know they are out of a job a day later as stores close on 27th Dec - not sure I would. that's nothing against the staff - just why put yourself out and ruin the length of your Xmas break when you have been let down so badly by your employers.
Only 207 stores close on the 27th...
Then staff are required to go and help with clear up operation..
Also fixtures and fittings are to be sold.....
Staff will want to sell these as it will help them...
Staff are being paid up until the final work day as well...0 -

I love the way people are treating the employees of Woolworths like they are about to have their homes repossessed and need all the help they can get from everybody.
People lose jobs all the time.
Granted it's an awful time of the year to lose your job, but if you work in retail for £6 an hour at Woolworths you'll easily go and find another job down the road for £6 an hour.
There's plenty of jobs to go around in retail, and there always will be.
I feel sorry for the people losing their jobs, but this happens in every walk of life, in every country all over the world!
The staff won't be scratching around the stores looking for "bargains" or filling trolleys with 60% off chocolate bars to feed their families over the festive period. They'll find a new job and live happily ever after.
